Our first City Council meeting of the year will be held tomorrow, January 14th, and will include administering the oath of office to our two newest council members. We look forward to swearing in Kari Moore and Gary Severson and thank them for their willingness to serve our community. A new transit option, Metro micro, is now available through Metro Transit. What is Metro micro? It's a door-to-door service that uses ADA-accessible mini buses. Within the service area, you can book a pick-up and drop-off for one flat rate. Pick-ups and drop-offs can be requested through a smartphone app or by phone. For more information, including the service map, check out the link provided. Finally, the Oakdale Fire Department wants to remind everybody with some fire safety tips regarding the use of space heaters. Keep portable heaters 3 feet from anything that can start on fire like furniture and blankets. Do not use your space heater to dry wet items like mittens or towels. Turn portable heaters off when leaving the room or going to sleep.
