Oakdale announces spring events, free tree giveaway
The Oakdale City Council highlighted several upcoming community events at its Monday meeting, including a free tree giveaway, paper shredding event, and indoor garage sale scheduled for early April.
Oakdale residents can register starting Tuesday, April 1, at 8 AM for the city's Pete Graske Arbor Day Tree Giveaway. The city will distribute 200 free trees to registered residents on April 26, with a limit of one tree per address. Registration opens online at 8 AM and is available only to Oakdale residents.
The council also reminded residents that seasonal winter parking restrictions—which prohibit on-street parking from midnight to 5 AM—will end on April 1. However, the city emphasized that on-street parking remains prohibited whenever there are two or more inches of snow on the ground, regardless of the season.
Two events are scheduled for Saturday, April 5. The Eberhard Group is partnering with the city to host a free community paper shredding event from 9 AM to noon at the City Hall parking lot. Residents can bring up to 10 bags or two boxes of documents for secure disposal of confidential materials. The same day, an Indoor Garage Sale will run from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Discovery Center, offering bargains for shoppers looking for unique items.
These announcements reflect the city's focus on community engagement and environmental stewardship as spring arrives in Oakdale.
