City Council reschedules meeting to accommodate primary election
The Oakdale City Council announced that its regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 13, has been moved to Wednesday, August 14, to avoid conflicts with the state's Primary Election Day. The shift ensures residents can participate in voting without scheduling conflicts.
Oakdale residents heading to the polls on Tuesday, August 13, will find voting locations and hours available throughout the day. The city rescheduled its council meeting to the following evening to give residents and officials time to focus on the election without competing civic obligations.
Beyond the scheduling change, the council highlighted several community events coming to Walton Park Bandshell in the coming weeks. The Gypsy Mania Hot Club Quartet will perform the final concert of the Summer Concert Series on Wednesday, August 14—the same evening as the rescheduled council meeting. The following Friday, August 16, the city will host a free outdoor screening of the Super Mario Brothers Movie, co-hosted by the Oakdale Recreation Department and Oakdale Police Department.
The council also reminded residents that they have until August 31 to weigh in on the city's Park System Plan update. The city is seeking public feedback on proposed designs and amenities for future parks. Residents can review the proposed plans online and submit comments to help shape the future of Oakdale's park system. This feedback period is part of an ongoing initiative to ensure community input guides park development decisions.
