Oakdale celebrates summer events and honors landscaping excellence
The Oakdale City Council highlighted upcoming community events and recognized local landscaping achievements at its Monday meeting, showcasing the city's commitment to engagement and beautification.
The city is preparing for a busy week of community activities designed to bring residents together. The final concert of Oakdale's summer series takes place Wednesday, August 20, at the Walton Park Bandshell, featuring a kids music show. The following day, August 21, two major events are scheduled: the annual Touch A Truck event at City Hall's parking lot, where families can explore various vehicles, and Washington County's Back 2 School event at Walton Park, offering free haircuts, school supplies, and vaccinations to help families prepare for the new school year.
In recognition of community contributions, the city honored the 2025 Oakdale Acorn Award winners for excellence in landscaping. Rick Rubbelke received the residential award, while 4Front Technology & Office Campus was recognized in the business and commercial category. The Acorn Awards celebrate property owners and businesses that enhance the city's appearance through exceptional landscaping efforts.
These initiatives reflect Oakdale's ongoing efforts to foster community engagement while recognizing residents and businesses that contribute to making the city more attractive and welcoming.
