Oakdale celebrates summer events and honors landscaping excellence

The city is preparing for a busy week of community activities designed to bring residents together. The final concert of Oakdale's summer series takes place Wednesday, August 20, at the Walton Park Bandshell, featuring a kids music show. The following day, August 21, two major events are scheduled: the annual Touch A Truck event at City Hall's parking lot, where families can explore various vehicles, and Washington County's Back 2 School event at Walton Park, offering free haircuts, school supplies, and vaccinations to help families prepare for the new school year.
In recognition of community contributions, the city honored the 2025 Oakdale Acorn Award winners for excellence in landscaping. Rick Rubbelke received the residential award, while 4Front Technology & Office Campus was recognized in the business and commercial category. The Acorn Awards celebrate property owners and businesses that enhance the city's appearance through exceptional landscaping efforts.

summer series will be held at the Walton
[0:13] Park Bandshell this Wednesday, August 20 at 6 PM
with a kids music and bubble show by the Imagine
[0:19] Music Bubble Party. Join us for Oakdale's annual
Touch A Truck event this Thursday, August 21,
[0:24] from 5 to 7 PM in the City Hall parking lot. Kids
can climb and explore public safety vehicles,
[0:29] snow plows, garbage trucks, street cleaners,
semi-trucks, and more. This event is FREE
[0:34] and ice cream treats will be provided. A
sensory friendly hour will also be offered
[0:38] from 5 to 6 PM where no lights or sirens will
be used. Also on Thursday and right next door,
[0:44] stop by Walton Park for Washington County's
Back 2 School event from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.
[0:48] Participants will be offered free haircuts,
school supplies, and resources, vaccinations,
[0:53] and more. Check it out. Finally, our 2025
Oakdale Acorn Award winners were recognized
[0:58] for excellence in landscaping at our recent
City Council meeting. Congratulations to Rick
