Oakdale residents can now recycle their jack-o'-lanterns for free through November 10 at Oakdale City Hall, thanks to a partnership between the city and Washington County. The pumpkins must be clean—free of glitter, paint, wax, and candles—and should be dropped at a designated dumpster in the north end of the City Hall parking lot.

With Election Day arriving Tuesday, November 4, the city reminded voters to head to their assigned precincts. One notable change: Precinct 2 voters will now cast their ballots at Tartan High School instead of their previous location. Residents seeking more information about their polling place can visit mnvotes.org.

Fall street sweeping begins Tuesday and is expected to take about two weeks, weather permitting. The city asked residents to help the process along by staying clear of sweeper vehicles, moving parked cars out of the way, and keeping trash containers off the streets during the operation.

In other business, Oakdale is hiring ice rink attendants for the upcoming skating season. The positions are flexible and weather-dependent, open to anyone 16 and older. Interested candidates can apply through a link provided by the city.
