In a separate update, Metro Transit provided information about the upcoming Gold Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system and the traffic changes it will bring to Oakdale. The Gold Line is a new rapid bus service designed to move passengers quickly through the city. Most of the route will have dedicated bus lanes that are off-limits to regular traffic, though Hudson Boulevard will be an exception where buses share the road with other vehicles.

Metro Transit emphasized several safety rules for the new system. The red-painted bus guideway lanes are exclusively for buses and cannot be entered by other drivers. Pedestrians must use sidewalks and designated crosswalks rather than crossing through bus lanes. These guidelines are meant to ensure the system operates safely and efficiently once it opens.

No votes were taken at Monday's meeting. The council session focused on informing the public about these upcoming changes so residents can prepare for construction activity and adjust to new traffic patterns in their neighborhoods.
