Oakdale announces spring events, transit project opening
The Oakdale City Council shared updates on several upcoming community events and services during its Monday meeting, including the opening of a new bus rapid transit line and the final indoor market of the season.
Oakdale residents have several reasons to venture out this Saturday. The city is hosting the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Gold Line Bus Rapid Transit project, a public transportation initiative that will offer free rides during its first week. The opening day event begins at 10 AM at the Woodlane Park and Ride in nearby Woodbury, with a full schedule available online.
Also happening Saturday is the final Oakdale Indoor Market of the season, running from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Discovery Center. The market features local vendors and artists and marks the end of the winter market season.
Looking ahead to warmer months, the Oakdale Farmers Market will launch on June 4, with additional details to be announced soon.
In other announcements, the city reminded residents that its Public Works department offers a service to repair accidental yard damage caused by snow plows. Residents experiencing such damage can contact Public Works for more information about the repair program.
These announcements reflect the city's focus on community services and public transportation improvements as Oakdale transitions into spring.
