Oakdale announces maintenance closures, summer events this week
The Oakdale City Council shared updates Monday on upcoming closures and community events scheduled for this week, including trail maintenance at the Nature Preserve and the annual Night to Unite neighborhood gathering.
Starting today, several trails at the Oakdale Nature Preserve will close for a few weeks as crews repave surfaces and remove dead or damaged trees. The city is asking residents to follow posted signage for safety while the work is underway.
On the community calendar, the annual Night to Unite event takes place Tuesday, August 6. Police, fire department members, and city council representatives will visit neighborhood parties throughout Oakdale to strengthen community connections and engagement.
Residents should note that City Hall and the Discovery Center will close temporarily on Wednesday, August 7, from 11:30 AM to 1 PM for a staff event and training session. That same evening, the summer concert series continues at Walton Park Bandshell at 7 PM, featuring the Backyard Band performing rock and roll and country music.
Finally, the popular Pop-Up Splash Pad series concludes Friday, August 9, with its final event from 1 to 2:30 PM at Tanners Lake Park. The splash pad program, hosted by the Oakdale Fire and Recreation Departments, has been a successful addition to the city's summer offerings.
