Oakdale updates residents on street work, park plans, and fall events
The Oakdale City Council held its Monday morning meeting on September 23 to brief residents on several ongoing and upcoming projects, including street improvements, a new park opening, and opportunities to shape the future of Tanners Lake Park.
The city provided an update on the Hadley Avenue Street Improvement Project, which spans between 40th and 50th Streets. New light poles are scheduled to be installed in late September, pending the arrival of necessary components. Paving work will begin after the light poles are in place.
With fall approaching, the city reminded residents that only three Oakdale Farmers Markets remain this season. The next market is scheduled for Wednesday from 2 to 6 PM at the City Hall parking lot, featuring local produce and goods.
The city is actively seeking community input on improvements to Tanners Lake Park. Two different design concepts have been developed, each offering different combinations of amenities. Residents can weigh in through a survey available until September 30, which will help the city refine its plans based on what the community wants to see at the park.
Looking ahead, Oakdale will celebrate the grand opening of Willowbrooke Commons, the city's newest park, on Saturday, October 12, from 1 to 3 PM. The event is open to the public.
