Um we've had a couple umgroups come out and help us with uh um volunteering and picking and weeding.Um they're going to come out Pine Ridge Garden Club will be coming out thisWednesday to take a look at um our garden.Um I'm I bet you we're up to about 500 lb to Basic Needs.Um our next meeting is Thursday, September10th at 6:00. We do need some people on our commission, but if you want to comeout and volunteer, we'll always take volunteers just foryou know, just for our event or anything.>> Just for help. >> Just for some help, yes.That's it. All right. >> Thank you, Council Member WhitbreadHemmingson. Um as for myself, uh Personnel Committeemet with Hugo. Had just a couple criticisms, but all inall, we're completely happy with them. Received nothing from the other councilmembers in that time frame, so um like I said, we arewe approved the contract change for Hugo and we're happy to have him. And he'sdoing a great job, and I think everybody would agree.Um also, Hugo and I met with uh recently uh our neighbors from Cottage Grove inNewport and the county and MnDOT. We had a little get-together on the 61interchange funding and where that's going to go andum kind of explained our situation, and it seems like we're possibly gettingsome headway on that. Um we also met with Fairview and umhappy to announce as of next week, we should have a full contingency ofofficers. And uh we will be welcoming a newofficer to our staff, so we will be full.So, that is exciting and I'm very excitedabout where we're going, so that's all that I have this evening.On item number five, council comments and requests.I'll start off by saying what a great job this weekend by everyone on HeritageDays, but I am not going to steal council member Conrad's thunder. I knowhe has a lot to say and put in a lot of time and work on this, so I'm just goingto turn it over to him for right now. >> All right. Umyes, it was a great great weekend. We had minimal weathereffects on us, but we made the most of it.So, I'd just like to say a few things. Uha huge thanks to our city staff and city administrations, our police departmentand everyone in the community that helped make this weekend's Heritage Daysa great success. Um it's our third year at Heritage Park and I think it's uhit's been a great transition and I think it's evidenced by the amount ofinvolvement from the community as participants and spectators.Um I don't know how many people saw the drone show, but I think it was a verywell received. We had uh pretty high hopes going into it and uhum the group gave suggestions for the songs and stuff to coordinate to thetypes of visual effects that we were trying to get to and um the syncing wentoff seamlessly with our sound people from the the bands. It it worked. Theyliterally got to a countdown and said, "Go." And it they hit it and it justsynced fantastically. Uh the efforts and the patience ofeverybody that and everybody that was uh in it you know, their methods ofsuggestion and uh they helped influence this year's event for the last 12 monthsand we will start that process again very soon. Uhwe will be having and continuing meat raffles down at Park Place. I don't yetknow if everybody's up to starting one this week, but it may be you can watchour sites for um for each week um the availabilityavailability of that. Umjust again like to say thank you to everybody. UhI think it was great having the fire department up there with their tacos. Itwas a great return. It was well received andpretty steady line there.
