Following the approval of special assessments, the Council proceeded to award the construction contract for the Woodlane Drive Pavement Rehabilitation Project to McNamara Contracting for over $5.6 million, amended the 2026 budget to accommodate the project, and authorized a professional engineering services agreement with SEH, Inc. for construction administration.

His clients are concerned that Woodlane Drive is a major arterial road under the City’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan. This is a project that the City paid for, and there should be no special assessments.
The assessment policy cannot be changed individually by project because it is not fair. If the policy were to be changed, it would need to get feedback from taxpayers because it would completely change how roadway repair is done. He added that it would negatively impact taxpayers because everyone is going to have to pay more if there are no assessments.
She ran for City Council because of road assessments and finding herself questioning the feasibility report and the assessments. She noted that there is a policy in place and was approved in 2015. It was supposed to be relooked at in 2024 to be implemented in 2025.
