The Woodbury Heritage Society (WHS) proposes constructing a 10x14 ft replica historic post office structure at the Heritage House grounds within Marsh Creek Park. This facility aims to enhance community programming, improve operational storage, and strengthen visitor experience. The project is designed in a false-front western architectural style consistent with the site's historical character. The WHS will cover all construction costs, and upon completion, the structure will be donated to the City of Woodbury. Ongoing financial responsibility for repair, replacement, maintenance, and upkeep of the structure and its immediate area will also be assumed by the WHS. An addendum to the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will be required to define these responsibilities.

Playground Replacement Community Engagement, Powers Lake East Park Playground

The City is establishing a more consistent and clearly defined approach to community engagement for playground replacement projects. This process balances community input with project constraints such as budget, equipment availability, accessibility, and safety standards. Engagement levels will vary based on project size, with larger projects allowing more input and medium projects focusing on specific neighborhood areas. For the Powers Lake East Park playground replacement in 2027, a multi-phase engagement process is proposed, beginning in Summer 2026. This includes online questionnaires, targeted community outreach (within 1,500 feet of the playground), and multiple reviews by the Parks and Natural Resources Commission. The project will also evaluate the installation of synthetic turf as a pilot safety surface.
