My Girl Scout Silver project is installing a Dero Bike Fix-It station by the Park Pavilion at Powers Lake Park.
I chose the bike repair station because my dad had a heart attack in November, and I heard the cardiologist talking how he needed to do a low impact sport, and biking was one of those.
And when they do things like this that have tangible impact, it makes your heart just swell with pride and excitement to see them be so excited and energized and happy.
The repair stand will benefit riders around the community because if they're going out riding, they have that sense of security. Knowing that if something should happen, they know that there is a repair stand nearby.
A lot of people would have just called it quits at that point, but instead it inspired her. She is quite an inspiration to, I think, her own family, her peers, other Girl Scouts and those around her.
