[0:03] Today we are
[0:06] going to talk about
when to water.
[0:10] It is recommended
that each plot
[0:13] get one inch of water a week.
[0:15] And any more than that's
probably not necessary.
[0:19] And so we've installed
a rain gauge here at the garden.
[0:21] We also have six
[0:23] spigots here in the garden,
and we recommend hand watering.
[0:27] And so the gardeners
can, walk around, look,
[0:29] check out the dampness
of the soil,
[0:32] and they can
look at their vegetables
[0:33] to see if they're stressed,
if they're starting to wilt,
[0:36] turning
a little yellow on the edges
[0:38] and they know that
[0:38] they're not watering enough,
that signals it's time to water.
[0:42] If you have any questions,
there's a website,
[0:44] the University of Minnesota
ask a master gardener.
