[0:05] ryan actually flew here to Minnesota [0:07] he's based in Kansas City and he spent a [0:10] day working with the students um hearing [0:12] them rehearse it and present what we [0:14] learned in class and just giving some [0:16] fine details and little tweaks it's the [0:18] first time that I've ever heard that [0:20] song all together in real life of course [0:22] and that's that's always such a magical [0:24] experience [0:26] i think it's through these experiences [0:28] that students lives are kind of changed [0:31] and they're opened up to the idea of new [0:32] possibilities that they could write [0:34] music that you know through meeting [0:38] someone and uh asking questions and [0:40] getting to understand my compositional [0:43] process that maybe they could find their [0:45] own creative process we oftentimes see [0:47] the end product you know students on a [0:49] stage singing for the audience which is [0:51] great but we don't always turn the clock [0:53] back and kind of get to see where it [0:55] started so just the fact they could meet [0:57] you and pick your brain about the [0:58] creative process that was awesome it's [1:00] just so engaging for the kids they pick [1:02] up the score and they love it right away [1:04] so the learning process is a lot easier [1:06] it's a lot of fun to just sink your [1:08] teeth into it musically the audiences [1:10] love it too so [1:13] [Music] [1:15] tending
