[0:03] What I want everybody in Woodbury to [0:05] know about Hispanic Heritage Month is [0:08] that when they celebrate it, they're [0:10] celebrating all parts of the culture. [0:12] They're celebrating the language, the [0:14] music, the food, and the people. It's [0:17] important so students can learn in [0:19] school um all of the influence that our [0:22] Latino culture and community has and and [0:25] the impact on our not only here in [0:27] Woodbury but in society and this global [0:30] component. I believe representation [0:32] matters. This month shines a light on [0:34] voices, histories and traditions that [0:36] shape our communities. It's a chance to [0:39] celebrate the contributions and [0:40] achievements of Hispanic and Latino [0:42] Americans past and present. Hispanic and [0:46] Latino culture is expressive and full of [0:48] life. It enriches Woodbury and [0:51] strengthens the diverse tapestry that [0:53] makes up America. Hispanic Heritage [0:55] Month is something that we celebrate on [0:57] a daily basis, not only a month, but [0:59] daily. We It's our roots, our tradition, [1:02] who we are as as individuals. I want [1:04] Woodberry to know that um Hispanics are [1:09] not a monolith. um that we come in all [1:13] shapes, sizes, colors um from we are a [1:18] mixture in a mosaic that is beautiful. [1:21] And um I've been a resident for Woodbury [1:23] for 26 years and I love how diverse and [1:26] vibrant Woodberry has become.
