[0:01] the city recently received the results [0:03] of our 2024 Community survey and we are [0:06] pleased to report that nine in 10 [0:08] Woodbury residents say the quality of [0:10] life in our community is excellent or [0:12] good and 95% of residents rated [0:15] Woodburry as a place to live as [0:17] excellent or good the overall results [0:19] were positive with the city's [0:21] consistently receiving High marks as a [0:23] community of choice as residents gave [0:25] Woodbury a 94% rating as a place to [0:28] raise children the city continue to [0:30] receive high marks for services like our [0:32] parks and trails Recreation programs [0:35] Public Safety as well as services from [0:37] our public works department one of the [0:39] areas that received the highest increase [0:42] in ratings was the overall feeling of [0:43] safety in Woodburry as 92% responded [0:47] favorably and a 14% increase from 2022 [0:51] creating a safer community Through [0:52] culture connections and crime prevention [0:55] was one of the Strategic initiatives [0:56] that the city council identified after [0:58] the last survey since then Public Safety [1:01] staff have put intentional efforts into [1:03] growing the overall feeling of safety in [1:05] the community and that hard work has [1:07] reflected in this year's survey results [1:09] the city also saw a significant increase [1:12] in areas such as Community connectedness [1:14] diversity and inclusion as well as [1:16] Community engagement their survey showed [1:18] a 10% increase in the categories of [1:21] openness and acceptance toward people of [1:22] diverse backgrounds as well as valuing [1:25] residents from diverse backgrounds there [1:27] was also a 9% increase in the category [1:30] of providing a safe and secure [1:31] environment for residents of all [1:33] backgrounds the city has made [1:35] intentional efforts to create a [1:37] welcoming and inclusive community and [1:39] will continue to prioritize this goal in [1:41] the future water quality continues to be [1:44] identified by residents as the most [1:46] serious issue facing woodbery at this [1:48] time water treatment implementation is [1:50] at the Forefront of City staff as [1:53] temporary water treatment facilities [1:54] have been built to address concerns of [1:56] pasas in our water all nine Water [1:59] Production Wells with health advisories [2:01] are being treated today as we continue [2:03] to deliver the highest quality water [2:05] possible to Residents and businesses [2:08] this topic will continue to be a top [2:10] priority of the city through the [2:11] completion of a permanent water [2:13] treatment plant in [2:15] 2028 the second most concerning rating [2:17] was regarding traffic congestion 34% of [2:21] respondents indicated traffic congestion [2:23] as the top concern facing the city keep [2:25] in mind that it is not costeffective to [2:28] build roadway infrastructure before is [2:30] needed or by anticipating when it might [2:32] be needed the city regularly monitors [2:35] and studies traffic to identify and plan [2:37] for future roadways that are needed to [2:39] serve our growing [2:41] Community significant investment in [2:43] roadway infrastructure are currently [2:44] underway within and around the community [2:47] which results in traffic delays your [2:49] patience is appreciated during [2:51] construction we are grateful to the [2:53] respondents who took the time to answer [2:54] the questions on the survey their [2:56] feedback about how we are doing as a [2:58] city is valuable to the city council for [3:01] more information about the survey [3:02] results read quality of life insert [3:05] inside the current newsletter the full [3:07] survey results are also available at [3:09] Woodbury mn.gov communitys survey I [3:12] would like to thank all the residents [3:14] who participated in this year's survey
