[0:01] [Music] [0:05] So, I heard about storm drinking marking [0:07] when my dad told me about it and then [0:10] I'm interested in doing it to help the [0:13] community be better. [0:15] I like to keep my kids engaged in the [0:18] community. So, I reached out to City of [0:20] Woodbury and I was very fortunate to get [0:22] in touch with Ben and I said, "Hey, Ben, [0:24] you know, I'd like to have something for [0:26] my kids to get engaged and involved for [0:28] kids." You know, I think as they are [0:30] growing up, it's very essential for them [0:32] to understand what is needed in the [0:34] community and what their role is. I see [0:36] kids as a role model and getting out of [0:39] house and participating in the community [0:43] and then have awareness level of [0:45] awareness in the community [0:46] participations. So when they see helping [0:49] hands, working hands that inspire the [0:51] community and get involved in the [0:54] greater good, [0:57] people should know about storm drains [0:59] cuz if you people don't know about them, [1:01] they could just like dump like random [1:04] things in the storm drains. It'll go [1:05] into the lakes and like cause pollution [1:07] which is really bad for the [1:08] environments. So first like each like [1:11] week on like weekend you just take like [1:13] a brush you like clean off the storm [1:15] drain of any debris. So I use a [1:18] scrubber. I use the drain marker and you [1:21] have to use this glue. You stick this [1:24] sign and then like you clean around the [1:26] storm drain of any debris and then like [1:28] you just like keep it clean. You hand [1:30] out this paper that says like adopt a [1:32] drain to like help clean your own storm [1:36] drain. And then we hand out this flyer [1:39] like how to do it to make sure people [1:42] know don't litter on storm drains [1:44] otherwise like it can be bad for the [1:46] environment like really bad and so [1:48] people don't dump waste into the storm [1:50] drain because it like dumps into lakes [1:53] and help the environment from like [1:55] pollution. [1:57] I think it's a great program. You know [1:59] this should not waste the time and get [2:01] kids out especially summer time. It's a [2:04] fun program. You know you have a [2:05] research you you don't have to do all [2:07] the d marking in one day just do few [2:10] here few there and have fun enjoy it do [2:14] we have pretty much covered quite a few [2:17] area in this pretty much the map that we [2:19] got from city of Budbury we have only [2:21] one quarter left [2:23] I've learned to be aware of the [2:25] environment and encourage others to [2:27] participate more responsibly [2:29] it's a really fun program [2:31] and you get to learn a lot from it and [2:33] help the environment in at the same [2:35] time.
