Woodbury announces fall events, new county services facility

The Woodbury City Council highlighted upcoming community events and announced that Washington County's new Central Service and License Center is now open on Woodlane Drive, replacing the former location on Radio Drive.

Residents will soon have easier access to county services with the opening of the new Washington County Central Service and License Center in Woodbury, located on Woodlane Drive behind Kohl's. The facility replaces the previous license center that operated on Radio Drive and offers updated services to the community.

The city council also promoted several fall events coming to Woodbury. "Big Truck Day" will feature various vehicles and entertainment from the Teddy Bear band. The annual "One Woodbury" event will celebrate community diversity with live music, food trucks, and a resource fair. Additionally, the Woodbury Fire Station on Radio Drive will host an open house.

For residents interested in getting involved, the city is recruiting volunteers for multiple opportunities. High school students in 10th and 11th grade can apply for student positions on the Parks and Natural Resources Commission and the Planning Commission. The city is also seeking general volunteers for two advisory groups to participate in the city's planning process.

As the general election approaches, the council reminded residents that early voting begins September 19th. Information about local candidates is available online and on Comcast cable channel 859, where candidate forums and profiles can be viewed. The council encouraged community participation in the upcoming election.
