Woodbury residents have several opportunities to engage with their community this fall. The city is hosting a free Diversity Celebration on Sunday, September 15th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ojibway Park. The event, organized in partnership with community groups, will feature food trucks and music while celebrating the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of Woodbury residents.

The following weekend, families can attend the 13th Annual Big Truck Day on Saturday, September 28th, at the M Health Fairview Sports Center. The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon and includes a special "sensory hour" from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. designed for children sensitive to loud noises—during this time, emergency vehicles will operate without lights, sirens, or horns. The Teddy Bear Band will perform, and the event is offered through a partnership between city departments and the Washington County Library.

For those interested in fall activities, Woodbury Parks and Recreation is offering a variety of programs for all ages. Residents can find details and register online at WoodburyRecreation.com or through the Fall Recreation Programs brochure, which has been distributed both online and by mail.

As the November election approaches, voters will have opportunities to learn about candidates. The League of Women Voters is sponsoring candidate forums that will air on SWCTC (Comcast cable channel 18) and be streamed at swctc.org, where residents can submit questions in advance. Additionally, candidates for city, county, and state House and Senate offices are being invited to record 2.5-minute profile videos. These videos will be released by September 20th on Government Access channel 18 and at swctc.org, giving voters a chance to hear directly from candidates before Election Day.
