[0:36] nonprofit whose goal is to provide an

[0:38] independent news source that as their

[0:40] mission statement says strengthens the

[0:42] bond of community one story at a time it

[0:46] was founded by a group of residents who

[0:47] felt that there was a need in the

[0:49] community for hyper localal coverage

[0:51] after the Woodbury Bulletin closed four

[0:53] or five years ago it became so clear we

[0:56] were missing really crucial information

[0:58] that simply isn't provided by any of the

[1:00] other news outlets the loss of the

[1:02] Woodbury Bulletin was a real problem in

[1:04] our community woodbury Newset helps fill

[1:07] the void that the Woodbury Bulletin left

[1:09] providing coverage of city government

[1:11] public safety community interest stories

[1:13] events happening around town and a whole

[1:16] lot more if you want to know what's

[1:17] going on at Woodbury we have a great

[1:19] source for you we have a weekly

[1:22] newsletter the roundabout and you can

[1:24] find out what's happening so sign up we

[1:28] had our first online newsletter

[1:31] published in the first week of August of

[1:33] 2024 after about 7 8 weeks we opened up

[1:38] our website our website is the easiest

[1:41] way to connect with us

[1:44] you can find past issues of the

[1:46] roundabout there and you can actually

[1:48] find the separate stories too that

[1:50] appear in the newsletter

[1:52] in a little over a year more than 2,700

[1:55] residents have subscribed to the free

[1:57] roundabout and Woodbury NewsNet is

[1:59] looking for more just go to woodbury

[2:01] newswet.org and sort of check it out

[2:03] make sure you're subscribing to the

[2:05] roundabout the other thing you can do is

[2:07] if you know you're interested you can

[2:14] great way to get plugged in to find out

[2:16] what some of the opportunities are we

[2:18] are looking for volunteer writers we are

[2:20] looking for uh other ways that people

[2:24] would like to volunteer or help just

[2:26] send us an email and we can take it from

[2:29] there the community reaction to Woodbury

[2:32] NewsNet has been extremely positive

[2:34] editors and reporters out in the

[2:35] community receive positive comments

[2:37] regularly it's a subtle way to be an

[2:39] active participant in Woodbury so if
