e here we go Mark is ready all right Carol good morning everyone it is Monday August uh 26th we'll call the Ray County Board of commissioner's special session uh to order we'll begin with the Pledge of Allegiance I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all all right so uh today's meeting is called to address some issues with some newspapers and some uh printing uh in some shortterm period of time here we've come to the realization that some of our our designated newspaper will not have uh print issues and we'll have some e-editions uh during some periods of time and to meet State Statute we will need to designate a temporary one that we can appoint during said periods of time uh so that we can meet statutes for print is that correct administrator correct Mr chair members of the board thank you for coming in this morning at short notice we found out on Friday that the uh official newspaper the d o Herald will not be doing a print edition this week on the 30th and we need to uh adopt a temporary official newspaper due to statutes it must be in print not in the addition back in January 2023 we did a bid process for the official newspaper and entered a three-year contract with the Delan Herald uh their subs their other paper the which one is that the Howard Lake Journal is also doing a the addition the other bid that came in was monel times so we are recommending that we uh you as a board motion to have the temporary qualified newspaper as a monel times during the period of e additions by our official newspaper all right is there any discussion board members now Mr Mr chair I'll make a motion to approve the monol times as the this week primary paper and the future secondary as needed till the contract runs out for the current county paper all we have a motion by commissioner catchmark second second by commissioner Shane any discussion does that meet the standards of what you need for a motion we're good we're good all right if that's good uh if there's any other discussion hearing none all in favor say I I I oh same sign motion passes unanimous uh as that is the only item on the agenda to address your today's special session uh we will adjourn the uh special meeting here today at 8:34 all right we'll get notice out to the Departments that are affected this week should be the sheriff's and planning and zoning thank you thank you you
