Wright County approves farm anniversary celebration permit
The Wright County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a large group assembly permit Thursday for Turning Family Farms' 115th anniversary celebration during a brief special meeting.
Administrator Kryser told commissioners that all requirements had been met for the permit, including sheriff approval and submission of required security documentation. The celebration has been widely advertised and is expected to draw significant attendance.
Commissioners praised the organization for working diligently with county staff to complete the permitting process in a timely manner. The motion was approved without discussion after Commissioner Shane made the motion and Commissioner Moa provided the second.
The board also addressed rescheduling a public hearing for project CD19, originally planned for August 11. Administrator Kryser proposed moving the hearing to August 14 at 1 p.m. due to scheduling conflicts, but commissioners indicated availability issues with the new date.
The board tabled the hearing date decision until their July 8 meeting to check Commissioner Dietrich's availability and explore alternative dates with the project engineer. The meeting adjourned at 9:08 a.m. ahead of the July 4th holiday.

This meeting is being recorded. Good morning everyone. It is Thursday, July 3rd. We'll call the Re County Board of Commissioners special meeting to order. We'll begin with the pledge of allegiance. I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. All right, we have just a very short short agenda here. Uh first item of action will be approving this agenda uh with the two items as stated. I'll stand for a motion. So moved. Motion second. Motion by Commissioner Shane, second by Commissioner Holland. Any further discussion? Hearing none. All in favor say I. I. Same sign. Agenda approved unanimous. First the timed agenda item. Administrator Kryser. Yes, Mr. Chair. Before you is an approval, a request for approval of a large group assembly permit for Turning Family Farms, their 115th anniversary celebration. I confirmed with staff everything is in order. The sheriff has approved everything. The bond has been submitted or the security document has been submitted. So everything is in order for approval, Mr. Chair. All right. Uh board members, you have any questions? All right. Looks like this has uh been a fairly well advertised event and should be well attended. Uh we appreciate their diligence of working with us to get the proper permitting and the proper information to do so done in time. Uh so with that I will stand for a motion. I'll make that motion. Motion by Commissioner Shane. Second. Second by Commissioner Moa. Any further discussion? Hearing none. All in favor say I. I. Oppos. Same sign. All right. Motion passes unanimous. Now to our 905. We have Mr. Don. Mr. Chair. I'll take that one as well. Um, originally at the last board meeting, we discussed scheduling the public hearing on CD19 for August 11th at 1 p.m. Uh, in speaking with the engineer, there were some other conflicts as well that staff had other meetings that we weren't aware of on August 11th in the afternoon. Um, we're proposing an amended date of August 14th at 100 p.m. U, that date and time does work for the engineer. I added this to the agenda because if it didn't work for the board, I could at least regroup and come back to you by July 8th in three more days. So, just looking to see if this works. If so, let's schedule it. If not, I can try to get more dates from the engineer and come back on Tuesday. It will not work for me. I'll be at a conference in Duth. I'm going to have a hard time with that one as well. Do we know if Commissioner uh Dietrich can make it? Because if we can get three of us here, uh the the public hearing is coming back to the full board and a recommendation. We just have to have the public hearing. We just got to have the public hearing. I I without uh her being here, I'd say let's just hold this off and let's kind of the date of this date of the 14th and we'll come back and circle it back if that works. I mean, I was going to say, well, you could plan it and see if she can make it here. What I can do is we'll just table it to July 8th. Yep, we'll table it to July 8th. All right, with that, uh, no other business on today's agenda. I wish everyone a happy 4th of July. Uh, and go out everyone as soon as you possibly can and enjoy this beautiful day. With that, we will adjourn at 9:08. I think that's what time is. Can't see.
