In preparation of the feasibility report development, staff held a community open house on 6/25/2026. Residents on Long Street were mailed an invitation. At the open house, staff presented 3 roadway alternatives for the Long Street corridor from Main Street to Madison Avenue. Residents were given the opportunity to provide feedback on which design alternative they may support. If residents could not attend the open house, staff posted a survey on Every Voice Mankato to gather additional resident feedback. The purpose of this item is to discuss staff’s corridor recommendation based on community feedback. ## Attachments ## Presentation 1 11121 – 2027 Long Street Improvements –Improvements on: •Long Street from Main ## Street to Madison Avenue •Emerson Lane from Pfau ## Street to N Belmont Drive 2 –Replace aging pavement and utilities –Calm traffic speeds –Discourage vehicle cut-through traffic –Enhance visibility of pedestrian crossings –Provide a safe corridor for all users and abilities ## Project Goals 3 –Staff presented 3 road design alternatives for the Long Street corridor.
