Chanhassen Plans Summer Events, Addresses Pothole Repairs
The City of Chanhassen announced upcoming community events and infrastructure improvements during its Thursday community update, highlighting recent successes and summer programming.
The city reported strong attendance at last Saturday's Easter egg hunt at City Central Park, with 555 children participating alongside 46 high school volunteers and eight local businesses providing activities. The event featured 4,500 eggs and distributed 13,000 pieces of candy.
Upcoming events include a Garden Tool Swap scheduled for Saturday at the Chanhassen Rec Center and a summer concert series launching in June at Lake Anne Park. Hackamore Brewing will partner with the city for this year's concert series. The city also announced its Memorial Day ceremony set for May 26 at the Al Klingal Huts Pavilion in Lake Anne Park, featuring guest speaker John Lovevald, a 25-year Army and National Guard veteran who has spent eight years working to end veteran homelessness in Minnesota.
City staff addressed seasonal road maintenance, announcing that crews have begun pothole repairs throughout the community. Starting April 28, the city will bring in a contractor to accelerate repair work and cover additional areas.
Drew Zarsky, identified as the city's senior pothole correspondent, said the contractor addition aims to complete repairs faster and provide smoother roads for residents.
