Chanhassen Highlights Memorial Day Turnout, Upcoming Events
Nearly 500 people attended Chanhassen's Memorial Day ceremony at Lake Anne Park on Monday, according to the city's weekly community update.
The city highlighted several upcoming community engagement opportunities during its Thursday Chan Check-in. Families can sign up for the Fishing with First Responders event scheduled for June 12 at Lake Anne, where children will learn fishing techniques from local emergency personnel.
A Planning Commission public hearing is set for June 3 at City Hall to review the Avianda Apartments preliminary plat and site plan. The hearing will provide community members an opportunity to learn about and comment on the proposed development project.
The city also promoted its latest Chanhassen Connection magazine, which features the top 10 most Instagram-worthy locations throughout the community. Residents can participate in a photo contest by taking pictures at the featured locations and tagging the city for a chance to win a Chanhassen-themed prize pack.
Carver County has begun construction work on the Highway 101 bridge connecting Chanhassen to Shakopee over the Minnesota River. The project will continue through early July, with the highway reduced to one lane in each direction during construction, and drivers should expect delays.
