Chanhassen City Hall Construction Nears Completion
Construction of Chanhassen's new city hall building has reached significant milestones, with the facility scheduled to open this fall, according to a recent progress tour.
Jack Bronzik, construction manager with Krauss Anderson, led the tour highlighting major developments over the past two months. The roof installation is nearly complete except for the clock tower section, and 90 percent of the brick work has been finished.
Key interior spaces are taking shape, including the council chambers and senior center. The council chambers will feature stone work extending to the ceiling and architectural woodwork incorporating the city's maple leaf design. The senior center roof includes a railing system allowing public access.
Construction crews plan to complete the air barrier installation by the end of May, with the clock tower clock scheduled for installation in June. The remaining 10 percent of brick work is expected to be finished by late August.
The main entrance area now shows the layout for the reception desk and service windows, including spaces for zoning, planning and inspections services. The building represents a significant investment in Chanhassen's civic infrastructure as the city prepares to welcome the public to the new facility.
