Call to Order Chairperson Urbanski called the meeting to order at 7 pm. ## 2. Roll Call Roll call was taken. Members present: Commissioners Aasen, Campbell, Sailer, Michaletz, and Chairperson Urbanski. ## Members absent: Commissioner Baswa, Purdy, Rydberg, and Rostad Also present: Nate Kabat, Community Development Director; Ashley Cauley, City Planner; and Liz Hanson, City Planner. 3. Adopt the Agenda Motion by Commissioner Aasen, second by Commissioner Michaletz, to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion carried. ## 4. Visitor Presentation No one appeared under Visitor Presentation. ## 5. Approve Previous Meeting Minutes a. Approve the June 10, 2026, Meeting Minutes Motion by Commissioner Campbell, second by Commissioner Aasen, to approve the minutes of the June 10, 2026, Planning Commission meeting. Motion carried. ## 6. Consent Agenda ## 7. Action Items a. PUBLIC HEARING: Recommend Approval of the Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for outdoor storage at 3700 Chaska Blvd/Precision Yard Services/PC #2026-14 City Planner Hanson presented the item to the Commission. Commissioner Aasen noted that he thought this looked like a great use of the property. Commissioner Campbell asked if there had been any discussion related to security or high- intensity lighting for the lots. Page 2 of 93 ## MINUTES – CHASKA PLANNING COMMISSION ## JULY 8, 2026 PAGE 2 City Planner Hanson stated that this was discussed with the applicant and noted that this site lends itself to be more secure due to its topography. She stated that the applicant intends to install security cameras, so they will also have visual surveillance of the site. Chairperson Urbanski asked about the height and size of the black hill spruce trees. City Planner Hanson stated that, at a minimum, they would need to be six feet tall. Chairperson Urbanski opened the public hearing at 7:20 p.m. Alex Young, MSP Commercial, representing the applicant, explained that they had no issues with the conditions of approval recommended by staff. He noted that they have been working with staff on these plans for a while and were on board with the long-range plan of high- density residential, and this was an interim step to getting there.
