[0:00] [Music] [0:07] [Music] [0:17] [Music] [0:45] [Music] [0:52] i'll be Good evening and welcome to the June 2nd [0:58] city council meeting if you join me for a moment of silence and pledge of [1:16] allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic [1:22] for which it stands one nation God indivisible with liberty and justice for [1:28] all [1:33] okay Miss Rosski roll call please michelle Vulk here luke Kelly here john [1:39] Burmel here dan Walter here joshua Lee here very good we'll move on to item number three citizens comments this is [1:45] opportunity for anybody to address the council for up to three minutes [1:52] okay seeing none uh item number four additional agenda information mr miller [1:57] nothing tonight Mayor great and we'll move on to uh item five and we'll turn [2:03] over to Mr burkquist our arena's annual report and budget presentation [2:09] thank you back for another year hopefully it'll go [2:14] a little faster i know I bore everybody with my budget stuff no I like it okay um we've had another uh [2:22] very successful year i always start out for the public's understanding of a lot of people don't realize we are a [2:29] separate entity from the city and we are actually a partnership between the school district and the city so um and [2:36] we do not one of the things we're proud of the city and everyone uh handles the [2:41] debt service of the buildings and so forth city leases the building to us at zero cost which we appreciate citizens [2:49] my users appreciate that um and then we uh since Lakefield Arenas was opened in [2:56] 2006 when the posi was built I know you all are very proud that it has never had to dip into uh the arena uh the city [3:04] funds or school district to pay its operating expenses and we are continuing that path [3:10] so uh just couple things our management team is been uh the first couple years [3:16] as you know I was pretty much on my own um through COVID and a few things and we're really coming alive uh Nick Nick [3:24] our operations manager has really stepped into his role and stepped it up this last year we hired a programs manager Brennan BC who um is really [3:32] starting to get a good feel for it and taking over the camps and a lot of the [3:38] uh internal program that we're going to be doing this year and especially next year with the outdoor facility tanya um [3:45] I've mentioned her multiple times lori my concessions people Lori and Alyssa do an amazing job our concessions continue [3:52] to grow be because of them and then three of our drivers Jeff Zimmerman Corey Mogan and Mike Cerguson um are all [4:00] I just wanted to mention them because they're a big part of what's happening these last couple years um and our [4:06] success so um I'd like to talk about the partnerships we have we have several partnerships you i always like to [4:13] recognize the city and the school district cuz a lot of our users don't understand how much you actually do c…
