[0:06] hello my name is Taylor Snider and I'm
[0:08] the new assistant to the city
[0:09] administrator here at Lakeville so I
[0:11] come from Fort Washington Wisconsin it's
[0:13] about 25 minutes north of Milwaukee
[0:15] right along Lake Michigan and that is
[0:17] subsequently where I got my first two
[0:19] jobs in public administration as an
[0:22] intern I worked for aaki County um as
[0:24] their administrative intern and then I
[0:27] received a full-time position with the
[0:29] city of Port Washington as a management
[0:31] analyst I went and got my master's
[0:33] degree in public administration from U
[0:36] Milwaukee and then upon graduation I
[0:38] started looking for jobs and I ended up
[0:40] here in Lakeville and I couldn't be more
[0:42] excited about it in my position as the
[0:44] assistant to the city administrator I
[0:46] helped the admin team which consists of
[0:48] the administrator the assistant
[0:50] administrator and the clerk with
[0:52] different projects that they have so
[0:54] some of these projects would include um
[0:56] Research into AI usage and how we can
[0:58] utilize AI at the local government level
[1:01] some of the other things we're looking
[1:02] into is our city fleets and some of the
[1:04] ways that maybe we can extend the
[1:06] periods of these vehicles to maximize
[1:08] their usage and then we're always
[1:10] looking for creative ways that we're
[1:11] able to better serve and provide better
[1:14] services for our community members here
[1:16] with the city of Lakeville during the
[1:18] election I was helping with the
[1:20] elections with the city clerk and that's
[1:22] kind of when I started here with the
[1:23] city so I jumped right into that which
[1:25] was an experience that definitely was a
[1:28] challenge but it was a good challenge in
[1:30] this position I also oversee the youth
[1:32] advisory commission which has been a
[1:34] really great opportunity this position
[1:36] oversees the group of high school age
[1:39] students that come together and they
[1:40] meet monthly and they come up with
[1:42] projects and ways that they can impact
[1:44] their communities which has been a great
[1:46] experience to kind of help facilitate
[1:48] these creative ideas and get the ball
[1:50] rolling on these projects which has been
[1:52] awesome one thing that I've really
[1:54] enjoyed about the city of Lakeville is
[1:55] the sense of community I think Community
[1:57] is very important and it's something
[1:59] that I was looking for when I was job
[2:01] searching and that is something I was
[2:02] able to find here um and it's not just
[2:05] the community but it's also a growing
[2:06] community and so that's something that
[2:09] really excited me and that's something
[2:10] that I'm excited to continue to be a
[2:12] part of here with Lakeville and um I'm
[2:14] happy to be here
