Lakeville Reports Major Business Developments, Energy Center Groundbreaking
Lakeville's economic development manager Katie Bachmire announced several major business developments during the city's August economic update, highlighting new construction projects and business openings across the community.
Dakota Electric Association broke ground June 26 on a new energy center at 225th Street West near Air Lake Airport. The project includes a 177,000-square-foot office, warehouse and storage building with outdoor storage facilities. Construction is expected to be completed by summer 2027.
Downtown Bicycles celebrated the opening of its new Lakeville location with a ribbon cutting July 22 at Kenwood Commons. The shop at 9057 203rd Street West offers bicycles, parts, accessories and repair services.
The city council approved two additional business projects in July. Lakeville Family Pet Clinic received approval for a 9,000-square-foot veterinary clinic at the northwest corner of 175th Street West and Glacier Way. Pickle in the Middle was approved to build a facility at 2130 Juniper Way featuring 15 pickleball courts available for 24-hour play.
