[0:00] (choir singing) [0:08] - So the Angelica Cantanti Choirs, [0:10] We are going to the Super Bowl of choir events. [0:14] This is for the ACDA, [0:17] which is the American Choral Director Association. [0:19] And this is actually the second time [0:20] that Angelica has been selected to be there. [0:23] We actually went to Kansas City in 2019, [0:25] and that was our high school treble singers group. [0:28] This time around is our high school Cantanti Singers, [0:31] which is a group made up of soprano, alto, [0:33] tenor, and bass singers. [0:35] So we have 70 singers in that group [0:38] that will be traveling on this trip. [0:40] - We were selected to go to this conference, [0:42] it's the national conference from choirs across the country. [0:45] And out of all of those choirs in the country [0:48] that are considered, we are the only one from Minnesota. [0:50] So it's an incredible opportunity. [0:52] We had to submit auditions for three years, [0:55] and so it's also like the groups behind us that got us here. [0:58] - I'm super excited. [0:59] I think it's really cool to get to perform [1:01] in front of the composers of pieces specifically. [1:04] That is a great opportunity. [1:05] - So we're singing seven songs chosen by our director. [1:08] Some of the songs are by local composers, [1:10] including Kyle Pederson, who lives in Eagan, [1:13] and there's some other composers who live in the area, [1:15] and they're really excited [1:17] because they're gonna get to hear us [1:18] sing their music down in Dallas. [1:20] So we're gonna get to work with them [1:22] and talk with them about it. [1:23] And it's just this really cool opportunity [1:25] where we get to learn so much more [1:27] and dive so much deeper into the music [1:30] than we normally would. [1:32] - More tenor here. [1:33] Bass. [1:34] - Mr. Brown is an amazing director to have. [1:36] He's just an absolute music genius I'd say, [1:38] and he really brings us all together, and uses our talents, [1:42] and makes amazing music out of it. [1:45] - Angelica Cantanti was like, [1:46] the first real choir that I'd sang with. [1:49] I've sang theater for a while, [1:50] but I really kind of fell in love [1:52] with choir through Angelica. [1:53] I found like that it's not just music, [1:56] it's also like storytelling, [1:58] and like a connection that you find with people. [2:00] - [Elling] I think probably maybe one of the best parts [2:02] is that all these kids are just as excited [2:04] and just as passionate about music as you are. [2:06] So it just is an awesome time. [2:08] - I just think it's an amazing community. [2:10] Everyone in the room is there because they love to sing, [2:13] and they want to strive to reach the highest level [2:16] of musical excellence, [2:17] and I just think it's a really amazing feeling [2:21] to be in that room. [2:22] - We are fundraising for this event, [2:23] the Angelica Cantanti Youth Choirs, [2:25] we are a nonprofit 501(c)(3), […
