I would like to call this meeting of the Robbinsdale Area School Board to to order. Welcome everybody. Today is Monday, May 5th, 2025, Cinco de Mayo. It is 6 o'clock and we are in the Education Service Center boardroom. Will the clerk please take the role? Gladly. Uh, Director Basset here. Director Bowman, that's me. I'm here. Uh, Chair Evans Becker here. Uh, Director Hillbrand here. Director Holmes here. Director Long here. Director Wuto here. Dr. Stalo here. We have a quorum. Super. Thank you. Okay. The next item on our agenda is approval of the agenda. Do I have a motion to approve the agenda? Some moved. It's been moved. Is there a second? I'll second. Moved and seconded to approve the agenda. All in favor, please say I. I. I. Oppos say nay. We have an agenda. Okay. Number three, Round Ardell Proud. Take it away, Superintendent Stalup. Excellent. We are really excited tonight to have an entire team with us from Lake View Elementary, and they're going to share and highlight some of the work around the uh international balora primary years program. um the fifth grade exhibit particularly. So I'm going to go ahead and hand it over to principal WLman right now. Thank you. Good evening Dr. Stylo Chair Evans Becker School Board. Thank you for having us this evening. My name is Wilbur Wkelman and I am the proud principal of Lake View Elementary IB World School. I am joined this evening by two fifth grade teachers, Miss F and Mr. Sega um who will read the mission statement and the bland acknowledgement. The mission of Robinsdale Area Schools is to inspire and educate all learners to develop their unique potential and positively contribute to their community. Robinsdale's land acknowledgement reads as follows. We acknowledge Robinsdale Area Schools is located on the homelands of the Dakota and Ojiway people. We recognize the painful history of genocide and forced assimulation of the indigenous inhabitats of the inhabitants of this land. We honor and respect the many indigenous peoples who live on and hold sacred these lands. And we stand with members of these nations to fight injustice in all of its forms. We uphold the preservation of Dakota and Ojiway languages, landbased education, and tribal sovereignty. Thank you. Um, at the center of the primary year's program is student agency. How are we giving our scholars voice, choice, and ownership um in in their classrooms and help them engage in the learning process? Um, this is seen seen throughout our program of inquiry from prek to grade five. Um, but it is really emphasized in the exhibition. Um the exhibition is the culminate culminating pro project done um at the end of fifth grade which really celebrates scholars work in the primary year's program. Um scholars with the assistance of mentors and teachers um write their own planners. They write the central idea, the lines of inquiry, um the questions that they're going to be answering.
