AIO School Board is being [5:25] conducted in the boardroom of the [5:26] Educational Service Center on Tuesday [5:29] November 12th [5:31] 2024 and is called at 601 601 p.m. the [5:36] purpose of the special meeting is to [5:38] Canvas the results of the November 5th [5:41] 2024 school election Schoolboard [5:43] election for three seats on the ISD 279 [5:47] Schoolboard the meeting can be monitored [5:49] electronically by streaming online from [5:51] the district website in archived [5:53] recording will also be available on the [5:56] district website seated in front of you [5:58] this evening for from my left to your [6:00] right is director Thomas [6:02] Brooks director Heather Douglas D [6:06] director Tanya Prince myself Jackie mosa [6:09] Jones director Sarah Mitchell and [6:12] director Tamara Grady superintendent Dr [6:16] Kim H and general councel Amy Moore are [6:19] also [6:20] present um for those of you that can [6:22] please stand and join me in the Pledge the first action item on tonight's [7:14] agenda is a resolution canvasing returns [7:16] of the votes of the school district [7:18] general election Ms Moore will you [7:20] please provide the [7:23] information thank you um under Minnesota [7:26] law the school board serves as the [7:28] canvasing board in the school district [7:31] pursuant to Minnesota statute 205 A10 [7:34] subdivision 3 the board is required to [7:37] meet in canvas the election returns and [7:39] declare the results of the election [7:41] between the 3D and the 10th day after [7:43] the election in preparation for the [7:46] canvas tonight the board has been [7:47] provided an abstract and return of votes [7:50] cast setting forth the accumulated [7:52] results from multiple precincts from the [7:54] general election of November 5th 2024 to [7:58] fill three vacant seats as a result of [8:00] the expiration of terms in January of [8:03] 2025 upon review of the abstract and [8:06] return of the votes cast the board is [8:07] required to declare the results of the [8:09] election and it's required to sign the [8:12] abstract accepting them as the results [8:15] of the official election the resolution [8:18] approving the canvas returns and [8:19] declaring the results of the general [8:21] election to fill three vacant seats on [8:23] the board by expiration of the term in [8:26] January of 2025 is now before the board [8:29] as its first action item on the agenda [8:32] tonight thank you is there a motion to [8:35] approve the resolution canvasing returns [8:37] of the votes of the school clerk to perform [9:06] other election related duties misss [9:10] Moore so pursuing again to the same [9:13] statute 205a point10 subdivision 3 the [9:16] school district election clerk is [9:18] required to issue certificates of [9:20] election to each successful candidate in [9:23] the general election after the time for [9:26] of con contested elections has passed [9:29] which would be 7 days after the board's [9:31] declaration tonight in addition the [9:34] clerk is required to undertake [9:36] additional ministerial task to [9:38] effectively assist the elected board [9:40] members to assume their office things [9:42] such as written acceptance of the office [9:45] written acceptance of the oath of office [9:48] the second action item and resolution [9:50] before the board this evening is to [9:51] authorize the issuance of certificates [9:54] of election and other related duties to [9:56] the district clerk this resolution is [9:58] now sub committed to the board for its [10:01] consideration thank you um is there a [10:04] motion to approve the resolution [10:05] authorizing issuance of certificates of [10:08] election and directing the school [10:10] district clerk the district [10:45] website within 24 hours after the [10:47] meeting board members there are [10:49] documents relating to the election [10:51] canvasing that require our signature [10:53] we'll be
