[0:04] hello everyone this is Dr Kim Hy proud
[0:06] superintendent of O area schools and
[0:08] welcome to another session of holding
[0:10] space I am thrilled today to be holding
[0:12] space with some Park Center Scholars and
[0:15] we're going to dive into the term of
[0:18] authenticity stay tuned would you mind
[0:20] starting your name and your grade my
[0:22] name is Le and I'm a freshman um my name
[0:26] is Natalie and I'm a freshman my name is
[0:28] Natalie and I'm a freshman uh I'm G man
[0:31] and I'm a sophomore my name is Noah and
[0:33] I'm a sophomore my name is hardel and
[0:35] I'm a sophomore all right okay so let's
[0:37] go ahead and get started so one of the
[0:39] things what holding space means is that
[0:42] you are able to say what you want to say
[0:43] with no judgment we're not trying to
[0:45] correct you you just be you it's okay to
[0:48] be you so want to look at being
[0:50] authentic and what it means for you all
[0:52] to be authentic so our first question is
[0:55] how would you define authenticity at
[0:57] your school what does that look like or
[0:59] sound like do you think it should be I
[1:02] feel like being authentic is just like
[1:04] expressing yourself and showing yourself
[1:05] no matter what no matter what like where
[1:07] you are just no judgment just being
[1:09] yourself and I feel like the way people
[1:11] show it in school is with like the way
[1:13] they act the way they talk or like the
[1:14] way they dress okay thank you yeah I
[1:18] feel like being authentic is um I mean
[1:21] it's a really big thing at school so I
[1:23] feel like you should be authentic no
[1:24] matter what even if uh you have a fear
[1:27] of being judged CU you know at the end
[1:29] of the day you make yourself who you are
[1:31] you you could be straight As she said
[1:34] this is a big thing at school so does
[1:36] Park Center promote being your authentic
[1:38] self or what do you mean by a big thing
[1:39] at school yeah I think I think they
[1:42] presented enough to where everybody else
[1:45] is all like everybody else is all good
[1:47] and cool if they got to Y their self
[1:50] cool I think so yeah um I feel like Park
[1:53] Center gives us the space to be
[1:55] authentic by respecting our cultures and
[1:58] values and beliefs
[2:00] the staff that are uh at par Center they
[2:04] are very welcoming like they welcome you
[2:07] what kind of things that occur here at
[2:09] Park Center that makes you feel like you
[2:11] belong like there's so much
[2:12] opportunities at so many different clubs
[2:14] and like things that you can do a lot of
[2:16] schools I've been they didn't have the
[2:17] opportunity to like sign up for this or
[2:19] that but at Park Center there's so many
[2:22] opportunities we are here with amazing
[2:24] Scholars with quite a bit of wisdom and
[2:26] this is the reason why I get out of bed
[2:28] every morning so thank you for holding
[2:30] space with us and we look forward to our
[2:32] next video
