Superintendent Visits Edinbrook Elementary During Fun Run Event
ACE Area Schools Superintendent Dr. Kim Hiel visited Edinbrook Elementary School during the school's fun run and family picnic event, interviewing students about their early school year experiences.
Four students - fifth-graders Charlotte, Emma and Leon, along with fourth-grader Boss - shared positive feedback about the first month of the 2025-26 school year. The students described making new friends and adapting to increased enrollment at the school.
The school's fun run featured a mile-and-a-half course that students could walk or run. The accompanying family picnic served hamburgers made from Minnesota beef supplied by local company Ranchers Legacy, a partnership that began last year through grant funding.
Dr. Hiel highlighted Edinbrook Elementary as the only elementary school in the ACE Area Schools district to offer the AVID program, which teaches study skills and helps students prepare for career and college planning. The program continues through all district middle and high schools.
The visit was part of Dr. Hiel's "Holding Space" video series for the 2025-26 school year, designed to showcase district schools and student experiences.
