Dissent: None
Moved by Council Member Jackson [7:53] · Seconded by Council Member Agnew [7:53]
Clerk Allison reported that 11,294 voters visited City Hall during the final two weeks of early voting, averaging 753 voters per day. This created significant facility strain, leading to the city manager approving remote work for staff to free up parking. Council members Jackson and Hovland expressed interest in moving these operations to Fire Station Number Two for the 2026 and 2028 cycles.
Notable Quotes (2)
there's a really high interest um for voting early um and what that really does for us is that it creates some challenges um with City Hall then being a polling place
one of the things we had in mind was being able to do early voting there to take that out of City Hall and so you don't have to have an answer now but that's one of the things I would like to see if it's legally possible and logistically possible
