I have a bit of information for you first and then we will do popcorn style and everyone will share their proposed commission work plan for 2026, 2027. Okay, so this is the first time you do this webex in a long time. So Chris is going to stay up there and I'm going to see if I can get this in the presentation. Okay, so here is the timeline and roles. It's not a lot different than we've done in the past. The biggest difference is that there's four commissions here tonight. Instead of the larger amount of eight tonight, the chairs are going to be or doesn't need you're going to be presenting a work plan proposals. Those were included inside of your packet. They're going to focus on the items that need explanation. Some of the items are kind of repeat things they do on an annual basis. City Council, so this is your job or your turn to ask questions about what they put in their proposed work plan and make sure that you understand the scope and what's being requested by the individuals. And then there is some admin staff here in liaisons were available for questions, but really admin staff after this will have a chance to review them as well. We will be back on November 4th with that review and some of our recommendation. Our staff liaisons, all of them will be here as well again and available and then City Council. That's really when you give us that direct feedback so that we can incorporate it and bring you a final work plan for approval. So this kind of lays that same timeline that I just talked about, but we will do a review and then ultimately you will approve them on December 2nd. And these work plans ultimately start on January 1st. And this is the first year that they're going to be a two year work plan. So tonight we have four of the commission. We're going to start with energy environment. Everyone has about eight minutes because we do have one presentation that happens after this. So I will turn it over to Corey. Thanks everyone. I'll be relatively quick. We've got seven work plan items for the next two years. Three of those seven are continuations of existing programs that we have in place, but I'll walk you through kind of the four net new ones that are worthy of discussion. So the first one is an initiative around studying internal combustion engine idling and air quality in the city. I know Carolyn and I have talked about that. It's something that we think is needing some attention. We'd like to do a little bit of research around that study and report back to Council on different things. So I think it's a good question. Second one. Education outreach to schools. So the United Public Schools have a go green committee. Historically, we have done very little as a commission to bridge the relationship of the schools. We are looking to change that and try to get more outreach and more connectivity in with the school district. We want to unleash the power of our student commissioners as well as those groups within the high school around ways that we could increase school bus usage. Things like organics recycling at the school, reducing kind of carbon footprint from the schools themselves. And so we're happy to help with joining those events. And there's a lot of contributors and that some of the two of the contributors in here are student commissioners that are very interested in taking that on with us. Any questions on that? Anything you would like us to focus on as part of that education outreach with schools. Thanks for including your students. Really empowering for them. And thank you guys for giving us sophomore students. And because we now have people that are more engaged at a younger age and not seniors that are kind of checking out a little bit earlier. So we're excited and the two. I mean, Marisa can attest to the ones that we've had joined so far have been highly engaged in our meetings, which has changed from the past. So we're excited about that. I'd be curious to see. I know that it's in the same work plan, but if one can lead into two is one of those educational opportunities. The focus on the school. So the anti idling is actually what triggered our thoughts around the school. So we anybody who's sat by old you or normal day on a school drop off morning. It is around the block and we think that needs to change. So we're going to try to find ways to do some research and then educate the schools in the process. I would recommend putting idling on the list in the description. We will do that. The reason we did that was to avoid you guys canceling one of the two. So we had it in there before. So good. All right. Number three. This is like the second. Sure. With respect to the student relationship between the energy environment mission and the students at the schools. Yeah. If you notice the dimension that. Relationship. So pretty strong. It was a really good. Yeah. I mean Paul Thompson still very involved in the schools and there's things that pale blue dots doing. I think the. City could probably just do more to equip them with ideas that we can come up with and vice versa. The number of students that are in those organizations are still relatively high. We saw a big turnout at the Earth Day event last year from students. So we're optimistic that we can only make it better. But I hope that answers your question. Yeah. That's my question. I was a little bit concerned about it. But no, I'm not. Thanks. Number three. So organics outreach. Our main goal with this is to really support Twilight team around organics recycling and multifamily homes. There's no mandate at this moment. There is a lack of. I would say involvement from multifamily housing units in terms of participation and organics. We want to see if we can change that. So we would be kind of an extension of Twilight's efforts to try to. Drum up more usage of organics at those locations. So is this really scoped to the multifamily or when you talk about the potential of the contest? Could that be the single family? It could be. Yeah. Moving on to number four, the food security assessment and local food production. We are excited to share with you. We will likely do it next year. But Brooke Bartholomew, who's one of our commissioners has done some extensive research on food deserts and food security assessments within the city. She presented her last meeting was very impressive in terms of the pockets of the city that you cannot walk or bike to get food. And then the last three before I close I'll say are just continuations of existing programming. We have our tree recognition campaign which we do in the fall which actually had a pretty surprising number of applicants last year. We're hoping to keep that going continuation of our Earth Day promotion and tabling inclusive of an electric vehicle event that we're going to do. I know some of you may or you were at that last year in Web of Park and so we'll keep that going. And then the Green Business Outreach Program which for the most part kind of runs itself at this point. Our applications have been relatively low as a way. I think we've hit a saturation in terms of the companies that want to apply have applied. They've gotten recognized and once they've been recognized they haven't seen the need to re up on it and renew. So that's probably the one of the three that were allowed to be able to do that. I agree that we're a little unsure of how much longer it's going to stay on our work plan. But any questions? It's kind of the extent of our list for today. I like that tree recognition campaign. I was really home on the first year. Yeah. People seem to really be. We just got a meeting with a couple of residents. The governor residents here this week and they were really enthusiastic about including the tree canopy. Since you're here and this is totally a wall and we have a huge amount of work to do. But something I've been thinking about is micro grids and could we have a micro grid and a data. We do have a substation. We do have good three days. So I just want to toss that out there. Certainly not even anything ready for the parking lot. But I think there's growing interest in those and cities are installing one. So we'll bring it up at one of our upcoming meetings and then we can look into it. And certainly see if my understanding of Jay's we can always add items during the course of the two years potentially. So there is obviously an opportunity for mid cycle modifications because we moved to the two year or even like adjusting from like a charge one of a study to moving to now bring us back some recommendations. Total transparency. I'd like to see it behind the fire station. Does the EEC have any role with respect to the tree sale? You then tree sale or encourage twice a year. So any role in it? We're big supporters. We love it. Yeah. No, I know that part of it. It was running. You know, it seems like we should think about expanding it. I wonder if there's a role for EEC on that. whether that be through yeah different different forms of media what were some of the discussions as a commission people want to move it to every other year to make it easier because it looks like I think we like having it annually is just sometimes we don't want to force someone in that you know we don't want to force a property into receiving the award it just be nice if we had consistently five to ten submissions to choose from where not necessarily that's more competitive but yet does seem like we have two or three and one usually sticks out. I want to thank Commissioner El-Karen and the rest of our commission and staff for just helping make the gears turn and get all this stuff together and help us achieve these goals. It's a team effort. I appreciate the opportunity to talk about it tonight. So item number one, it's item number one. I think every year I've been a part of the commission, which is going on 10 years. That's just reviewing the land use application. So this occurs as you know during our bi-monthly meetings. If we can't make a decision. Then it is a recommendation to you to make a decision so that comprises most of our time and efforts as well as staffs. Then typically we've had like as you know like four or five, six or seven items. The next two or some particularly large items as we've discussed before. But knowing this is a two year plan. We're getting ahead of it. There's a lot of sub items in these that we've talked about before. And I mean we could maybe compile a list of some of those particulars. But I don't know item number two is the zoning and subdivision ordinance update. So this is on the heels of the audit that was completed in 2024. And the update will. It's just it's aiming to better align our code with our comp plan. And we have a consultant that's going to do the heavy lifting, the sister with staff. And kind of tucked in. There has been a lot of suggestions over time. So just as we approach and get into that, if there's particular items relevant to these. You know now we're over the next few months. If you have those, it'd be good to just compile into a list so we don't forget about specific topics. What's the process to be everybody else aligned with the. I want to say progress, but we get you on a room like this. I really go through what the issues are and just the general thinking. I might think in this one, the last thing I would want is for you to go into your room and then come back and. He really is. So how are you thinking about making sure you can kind of go along the ride with. So I mean we're targeting completion in a year essentially. So I mean, Carrie could speak to kind of the process. You'll see us on your work sessions several times next year. So it'll be a series of work sessions. I'm going to give you progress updates, get some opinions on some things. And we'll probably do some individual, maybe two council members at a time. You know, hit everybody where we can have some more in depth conversation. So it's going to be a series of all of those activities. This came up at our last council meeting when we approve the variance to the parking ordinance for. And I'm just wondering, are we going to try to rework that or get that as an item that is kind of an ASAP thing since we approved a project that is actually. Not compliant with our code. So it to me, it seems like maybe that should be something that is given some attention. I don't know how other people are. Well, updating the parking for 50 of them grants since we went ahead and approved something that is not code compliant. Yeah, I can take that too. We do intend to put something together. Staff wise, I was asked to go through planning commission, but we see that as kind of separate from this big process. So we will hope to get you something probably early next year. And that was a little bit of a curveball in terms of process because I did not realize that we as a city would grant variances. For things that were not code compliant and then. Later on. And so that's a totally new protocol. And in a way, it's a really powerful tool and your tool belt, but it makes me incredibly nervous. So I just want to say that. I mean, that I mean, that's the overall goal with this. Initiative really is to help prevent. Stuff like that. We're cleaning out a lot of the old stuff that doesn't match our complaint. As you know, we've had tension between. What the vision is for an area and what the current code is. And I mean, like the Kevin Keys side. I mean, you have these anomaly areas where it makes it hard for anyone to make. A good decision, like a well rounded one. So this is this is going to be a huge help. We think going forward after next October. One of the things that wouldn't necessarily go on the code, but would be nice to go along with this is kind of a. Check sheet for people to understand. The difference between getting a building permit by the code and applying for a P.D. And sort of because we've had problems with people understanding the difference between that. So as you're going through this, if you find ways here's a good way to describe how this works. If you could sort of annotate that and then provide that along with the update to the code. So if you have ways to explain how it works, I think that'd be kind of a nice handle of kind of thing. Process. Yeah, hold on. Yeah, because it's extremely confusing to the public. And I know it's confusing to us too. Totally agree. And that I mean that in general is a topic that isn't on here, but we're all ears. I mean, we're always thinking about how to improve the process. Some of it's just the communication of it. So I mean that stuff we always hear and we share and things a little by little do get a dress. That seems more of a communication piece. I could be added. Okay. So kind of leading into what was discussed on another commissions initiatives is the next item and that's just getting prepared for the comprehensive plan update. And kind of doing the zoning and subdivision ordinance update. It's going to be a nice primer for getting into the comprehensive plan update. But as you know, that's a huge lift for about three years and we'll select kind of toward the tail end of 2027 the consultant that will be doing most of that work is that. And 26. So they'll start 27. Okay. So at some point in time in that it would be nice to have someone to go to all the different commissions and just, you know, as a planning commissioner say this is how we're looking at it. And staff can do this too. But just to have that face because I remember when I was on the energy and environment commission. We worked on our complex, but we never really got the sense of how it fell into the overall thing. So just that initial. We're driving the bus on this. And if you have questions, you know, we will have a contact for you. And that would be nice to understand how it all fits together. That does into some discussion we've had after some recent meetings too, because we used to have kind of some commissioners going to other commission meetings. And some of us just on the heels of maybe small area plans, but kind of in advance of the work plan or the comprehensive plan update. We want to get that going again. So at least the planning commission can be a continuous bridge to. So that I mean, that's right on the heels of like what we've been talking about too. Yeah, so those are two kind of enormous items for two years. And then one that got recently added in. Commissioner Smith is going to head this one up and it's studying the use of food trucks. And it's not necessarily. Promoting a change of that. It's just getting familiar with the restriction that's in place and its effects. Other cities don't necessarily have these type of restrictions. So really exploring the limitations constraints and maybe opportunities it provides, but. Just try to get a study going on it and report back to you on. If there is a recommended change. Is to allow for some more diverse offerings throughout the city. That's kind of new, right? We haven't heard about this before. Yeah, maybe last few months has just come up kind of like in community discussions. And the more we dug, it's like, I don't think many people realize there was. The restriction. Yeah, there's there. Because you see. The association with an event. You see in the parks with an event. Centennial lakes at times. But we don't allow them. Someone did just park in someone's parking lot and sell to the general public. We allow them as part of the tap room. They have the own food and they haven't utilized that part of it. But that's another opportunity should another have come to a dime and they get out. David, can you come up to your own? Yeah, it's fun about coming up and thinking about some things that we've been facing as a city. Because I think this can be part of the part of the conversation. So for the last two years, we've dodged some serious limitations of local control. Look at the reaction of local control on landings. We've had some really good allies over there in the legislature. Any claymore in represent part of the planet. Eddie Aikum will represent part of the planet in the mid-tongue. And I would say even the chair might power it who is over at Richmond. Once we're more practical about things. But we're going to face this again and solve the context of. All the context of housing production and affordability. So yesterday, I was part of a small team from the MLC that we belong to. There's 19 cities in the municipal legislative commission that met with Twin Cities housing alliance. Twin Cities housing alliance is market rate developers that are thinking they're going to have to come in this year. Because housing first, which is the builders. They've got a pretty heavy-handed approach. They're the ones that sued us, you know, over the pre-work. And then Twin Cities housing alliance that tries to work down the center. Things they need to come in with their own bill and not just play defense and play offense. The MLC is thinking the same thing. We need to come in with their own bills. And then we need to come in with their own bill and make sure that they're going to be able to get the right to go. And then we need to come in with the right to go. And then we need to come in with the right to go. And then we need to come in with the right to go. And then we need to come in with the right to go. And then we need to come in with the right to go. And then we need to come in with the right to go. And then we need to come in with the right to go. And to the extent you get any of that, the law, how money, report and law, can maybe use that. That's what they're going to propose. So that's one thing. The second thing is administrative approvals on projects that otherwise comply with the code. So a streamline that process, some way, somehow, you guys have talked about that already. It's free money things. And so where projects, you may see legislation coming where if the project proposed multifamily, I'll use by example, comes in and aligns with the cop plan and the code. And doesn't need anything in the form of variance or they're not doing a PUD. I guess maybe in the PUD, we haven't talked that through. It might there be some kind of a process where it goes to planning commission ones that our place, that a council wants. So that's coming. But today, and I mentioned this because I think to the extent you've been thinking about streamline, it might be its time to become with ideas about how we take our ideas from the data and adjust them to the MLC because MLC wants to have a zone bill too. Okay. So that's two. Three is by right or by mandate the conversion of commercial industrial property to a low multifamily use. And of course, if you don't like it, if it's. By my mandate, my right for a city to be able to maybe. But under what condition would we think about converting commercial industrial use property. We face this down in the street. It's a very issue we talked about down there. Hey, that would view the world really another of, you know, we had different views, make surprise. So that's, that's the third thing I think we want to be thinking about it because we want to try to align ourselves with this twin city housing lights. I think the extent we can. And to the extent we can influence all the crap they're real based on what we might think is valuable carry to. Let's be proactive on that. And then the last thing was condo legislation. We can reduce the state of the rotation. I was a clear burner. Really resistant to that. The sidebar with me today. She doesn't understand what the building code. She's thinking that if you reduce the state of the limitations of that. So 10 years of city. For being in cause of action for effective product. That condo owner condo builders will build something in only last seven years. We need to code the building code itself protects everything. And so she just needs an education on that. She's a really great legislator, but they just need an education on. It would be safe to reduce that statute of limitations free because of the way the building code is set up and constantly approved. At the state level and on the local level. So those are kind of the things that are hanging fire and it's all coming up in the context of housing affordability. And I think if we can help our group 19 cities lead the way on that idea. I'm really thinking about that. One of the big problems was over in Kaggill was that we don't have sewer capacity for a multi family. So what do you do in a situation where I think we could argue with the legislature. You can't mandate this because we can't do it. We can't just we don't have the infrastructure to pass. They handle stuff like that. So it could be exceptions to the general rule. Maybe they'll pay for it. That's why I was thinking. So anyway, those are those are things that are moving fast now. And then Cleveland and AECOM had a list of things they were looking at too. And I left it at work. I'll get it. Carry and send it to you and you can disseminate it to the planning commission. I'll get it to the council too because their list was more expansive than the one I just gave you there. The city housing lines. Thank you for the update. I mean, that's really good. And I mean, what we see because we care about this stuff nationally. Different states are doing other things to try to override local control to sometimes we probably don't agree for the better. You know, I think recently in this state with the parking restrictions. I'm just trying to remove hurdles and obstacles for affordable housing and other development where the state can step in and kind of loosen the control for the municipality. So, I mean, there's stuff that other states and cities are doing that we can, I mean, we've talked about in our discussion so we can. Help formulate some ideas and. Any thoughts you have? So just be thinking as leaders in our city, you know, how do we need to steer the ship in different ways? This is the time to start thinking about it. I mean, it comes to the set you're mentioning, but also higher level things. What I've been thinking about is how does the dust settle? Because the 2018 Com Plan was a big deal. Right. And a lot of big changes to the quality of land. And how does the dust settle on the next one? So rather than being, you know, revolutionary again, you know, what worked, what didn't work, and where are we at? I think that we do a question for yourselves to ask to and think about. And where did we fall short with, you know, things that we wanted to see by now? And why did they fall short, the things that were achieved? And how can we make things happen again? Well, we're going to be having a discussion as an HRA about tax-incerling financing. And, you know, when Miranda got pretty mad at me when I asked this about the Lincoln and London Dairy Plan. But when we're doing these grand plans, zoning-wise, you know, we look through that, but then how do we pay for it? And one of the questions we'll be looking at is the timing of when we talk about tax-incerling financing and land use. And so, you know, that comes up. But those plans were made without anybody answering how you're going to pay for it. And it's expensive. So that's been in front of mine for me for quite a while. But just that's the dust that's settled on me. Sure. I think we need to take another look at the grid-style bill-area design guidelines and the specific feed carving of parcels, according to that grid, because that's super expensive and we don't have a lot of big parcels left and it really might not be the best approach, especially since we've got county roads all around that Southdale area. So we wanted to let you guys all know one of the big change that's happening. It'll change the change will impact you a little bit slower than it's impacting staff. Staff is, I would say we're at the state of exceptions with some level of anxiety. About how we're going to make things happen as it comes to ADA accessibility from a digital perspective, particularly. And Jen's going to go into a lot more details about what is actually what are the new requirements and. You like to go ahead. Yeah. Jen's going to go into a lot of the requirements about what the actual law is, but what we wanted you guys all to be a little bit more familiar because you're going to start to see. You both changes on our website, but then also changes in the console packet. Just from a content perspective for us to be able to make documents accessible to the level that they need to be, you're going to start seeing some changes and maybe like large contracts and specs and stuff like that might not necessarily be in your packet anymore if they're not required. Things like that that you're going to see a little bit different. We might use the portal at times in order to be able to get to you large documents that have a lot more of that detail. And so that's something we wanted you to be prepared. I think it will actually end up. I have a vision that it's going to end up being better for residents because what it will end up being is instead of them having to search through a 500 page document to find the relevant content. We'll kind of make like a summary version that will kind of highlight it and maybe make it a little bit easier for. There's still going to be people that are going to want the 500 page version and we'll go through and anything we put into the packet will offer for residents to get, you know, they can just email us and get a copy. But just wanted you guys all to be prepared for some of these changes and to also be in on the know about what staff is working on and maybe a little bit anxious about. So, over to Jen. All right. Thank you. So what I want to talk to you tonight about is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines or the WCAG of the American with Disabilities Act. A little over a year ago, in April of 2024, the federal register published the DOJ's final ruling on this updating its regulations for title two of the act. And that act has specific requirements about how to ensure that our digital content is accessible. The idea is, is that for years you come to a brick and mortar place to get information. And now that most information is online and people don't go to a library or a city hall, how do you ensure that that information is still accessible, particularly for people who are blind or deaf. But all, all abilities and mobilities. This rule is coming down in two parts. Cities over 50,000 have to be in compliance by April 24th, 2026. And smaller cities of less than 50,000 population have one more year until 2027 to be in compliance. So as you're talking about your peers, even in the metro, like Hopkins and Richfield, they're just watching what we're all doing. And the bigger cities are taking the lead of the state of Minnesota, who has been proactively working on this for decades to get us up to speed. Most, the state has told us, they told us as recently as today at our annual communicators conference, that a ramp up for this usually takes two to three years. We have been working on this this year. So by the time April rolls around, it won't even be a two full years. So this is overly simplified. But I'll tell you, I sort of look at what we're doing as being threefold. One, we want to make sure that all of our platforms are compliant, right? And then we want to make sure the documents posted on those platforms are compliant. And the fact is, we're not going to be compliant by April 2026. We may never be entirely compliant. Think of your sidewalk systems or some of the things we've talked about today. But what's our plan for getting there? So digital accessibility is not just the responsibility of the communications department. It's not the responsibility of the administration department. It's not your responsibility. It's all of our responsibility. So what have we done to date, to check off my to do list here? So the first thing we've done is we've requested compliance documents from our vendors. You're certainly familiar with our primary websites, edinamn.gov, bettertogetheredina.org, edinalicker.com, bramargolf.com. But in total, we have almost 40 websites and applications. They're little things like the T-Time Appet Braemar, logistic for applications of our volunteers and monitoring their service. Our big documents portal, there are almost 40 of them. And I actually suspect there's more that I just haven't unearthed yet. So we're asking them, where are you in establishing that level of compliance, that 2.1 AA standard? And if you're not there, what's your plan to get there? This is honestly easier for vendors who specialize in providing software for local governments. But let's go back to liquor and golf, for example. Those websites are not purposely, right? They used to be on the city's website and they said, we need something sexier. We need something that is more in line with the products we sell, the service we offer. So they're designed by firms that don't just specialize in government. So they might have a steeper learning curve than vendors who do specialize in government work. The great news is we began a redesign of our primary website earlier this year, and it's going to launch on Tuesday. So this is like a little tiny sneak peek of what your new homepage is going to look like. The site, the platform itself, when it launches on Tuesday, we are confident is a compliant platform. There's good contrast, the right use of fonts. We've added alt text to photographs for screen readers, close captioning for video. Again, though, everything that's added to it for documents, that's a different story. So we've started training staff. We had an in-person training session for the cities of Edina Bloomington and Plymouth in May. And we've been encouraging staff here since to get as smart as they can about how to create documents from the get-go accessible and how to remediate older documents. The law allows us to put older documents that aren't changing into an archive. They have to be in that archive by April of 2026. If they're not in an archive, they've got to be remediated. We have to be able to use a screen reader to read that content. We have thousands, thousands of documents and pages on our websites. Just think of one of your council packets, right? How many pages of attachments are in those? And that's kind of what Ari was getting at. What do we want to continue to include in the council packet because it'll have to be compliant? And we include a lot of stuff that we're not even generating, like plans, contracts from outside agencies. Do you want us to spend staff time to remediate those? There are services available to remediate documents at a cost of about $10 a page. You'll also see how we give presentations. As training rolls out, you'll start to see people present differently because of closed captioning. For example, reading this slide, I might go over what's on here, but I would want to point out what this graphic is of. If you're a blind person, you still get the benefit of what a sighted person can see. So in some cases, really the best practice for digital accessibility is to get away from PDFs, get to your native HTML content. It's also good for just usability. We'll pretend this is a phone since I didn't bring one up. If you ever pull up a PDF on your phone, you're not only scrolling up and down, you have to scroll left and right. It's not a good user experience. It would be better for you to have a mobile view that is responsive to the size of your device. So really, we're trying to get departments to think, what can you just put on a web page? The other thing to think about with presentations is presentations aren't meant to be your main act. They're your backup dancers. That's how I describe it to staff here. There shouldn't be anything in a presentation that isn't already in your staff report, right, as far as facts. So we all like the visuals. We enjoy the visuals. It drives home points. But really, everything you need to know about a proposal should be in that written form in a staff report. We do have several city templates. We begin remediating the templates themselves. Again, just like a platform, once we give someone an accessible PowerPoint template, once somebody adds a photo, it can immediately be out of compliance if they're not adding all text and that sort of thing. But these are the ones we've been working on today. It's a big task. The Minnesota IT Services Department makes these available for every state employee with a cheat sheet on every type of software, whether it's Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, maps. The final checks you should do on that document before you're done. And that is all new for our staff and really staff at every other city of our size. How is that for an overview? Well, they look as anxious as we are, so that's good. Okay. And that... We're all set at 99. For me, the looking at projects, you know, legal buildable area versus what the proposed book print is. That's a visual. What is... And then I just looked up what the 500 year floodplain is on a site. And I'm used to kind of doing my own digging because it's not provided, but I feel like there's going to be more need for elected officials to be able to find. And, you know, since you kind of have to do that now, maybe we need to get a guide out to elected officials like here's the GIS site from Huddapun County for looking at floodplain. You know, but how do we get the legal buildable area? That's kind of challenging. So it'd be great to read. How do I do that on my own? I would love to know how I do that on my own. I think another thing I want you to think about... I want you to keep thinking about those things because if we can make you some sort of resource guide of where to find this stuff, that's good for you. It's also good for the public. I'll tell you one of the things that's really hard for us in the early 2000s when websites first came about, there was the belief that any document, anything people would call for, just put it on the website. And it'll be a virtual city hall. We were all excited about that. And then our website started going really, really large. And at one point, the city be dying as a website was over 10,000 pages. And we were not unique. Like this was just like how things evolved. And then what happened? Residents were like, I can't ever find what I'm looking for. There's too much stuff to wade through, right? And so you saw contraction, not just on our website, but again, across our industry and all other industries. We just want to get people to the information they're most looking for as quickly as possible. But you still have people who have that belief and even worse yet, they'll say, well, you're not transparent because it's not on the website. Being transparent means if you ask for the data, we get it to you. It doesn't necessarily mean it's on the home page of our website. Can you imagine if everything that was important to, I mean, I see it even in our 12 departments, everyone has a thing they want on the home page. So it's a careful balance between really recognizing what a lot of people are looking for and making sure it's available online. So being people to be able to self service and get things they're looking for and what are those things that we just need to make available upon request. It's like this very careful balance and it changes every day, honestly. So as you're talking, I'm thinking of a card catalog and the card catalog could be fully accessible. And then you fall on what you're looking for and then you click on it and it says, here's how you can get this accessible. This document isn't the archives and I would archive almost everything, but make it easy to get to the archives. And then if you click on the card and the card catalog and you need it accessible, then here's who you talk to about getting this document in an accessible form. So that it's just as easy for someone who can't see to find a document, but that document is not going to be easy for them to see, but we can find a way, you know, if they want to come down with a reader or something like that, we can find a way for them to get that document just not on the website. That's kind of, I don't know if that's kind of what you're doing anyways. Well, the third big project is writing the remediation plan. So what is the work around? So that's an idea that we would consider for that. So I think with your doing is awesome. We deal with that every day with our employee population. We have several individuals that are visually impaired, some that are deaf, and we have to provide documentation so that they have access to it. And that does include the ability for them to be able to use a digital device. If that's how it's presented, we have to provide accommodation for that too. So I think it's awesome what you're doing. A lot of things I get that, but I do think it's awesome. The only other question I have is do we have data governance process in place because if we don't, we should think about how to structure that so that as your documents change or people have documentation that they want to follow in the process, to be online or what have you, they really ought to have to go someplace that controls. Yes, that document is compliant and can go on our website. And so having a really good defined data governance process, I think we should have that. Happy to have a conversation and talk about how to do that if we don't have that. We don't have staff today with that expertise in house to be like the final sign off on all documents. There are software options available to us through, through in particular, our main website provider civic dress. It's it's a new software cost for us with an annual price tag, but we get that stamp on our homepage that says this is a compliance site. These documents are compliant. And that may that may be important to you to see that. Okay. I want to talk about that. That was just it was the call ins and whether or not with the data that we have, we wanted to continue to set up that process to to call in during council meetings. I heard feedback that people want to keep it. I would go ahead and email us. There's no there's no recommendation from staff on it. We've just observed as you have, you've had a lot of long one minute. But knowing that if someone doesn't feel comfortable coming out at night to come to City Hall and wait to testify. I think it's important they have that option. They're still waiting. They're still waiting, but they're in the comfort and I've been on the phone waiting, you know, before I was on council.
