[0:00] Well, greetings everybody. This is Jim
[0:02] Huffland, your Adina mayor, and this is
[0:04] the mayor's minute for Wednesday,
[0:05] October 1st, 2025. Looks like another
[0:08] 80°ree day in Edina.
[0:10] You know, the Adina High School
[0:11] thesbians, the actors over there, are
[0:14] inviting all of us to wear pink. Yeah,
[0:16] wear pink on Wednesdays this month to
[0:19] take a stand against bullying.
[0:22] They'll be performing Mean Girls
[0:24] November 7th through November 9th,
[0:26] written by the hilarious Tina Fay. The
[0:28] show is set in the early 2000s, but its
[0:31] theme, fitting in, peer pressure,
[0:34] popularity, and rumors are still just as
[0:36] real and relevant today, especially
[0:38] online. Beneath the laughs, Mean Girls,
[0:41] carries important messages about the
[0:43] dangers of bullying, the importance of
[0:45] kindness, and the value of being true to
[0:47] yourself and your friends. October is
[0:49] National Bullying Prevention Month.
[0:52] While orange is the usual color for this
[0:54] month, the thesians are asking us to
[0:56] wear pink on Wednesday. Inspired by the
[0:58] famous Mean Girls line, on Wednesdays we
[1:01] wear pink. So join all of us at city
[1:04] hall in wearing pink on Wednesday and in
[1:07] practicing kindness. Smile, say hello,
[1:10] offer a compliment, lend a hand, express
[1:14] gratitude, help a neighbor, tip a little
[1:16] more, post something positive, or
[1:19] recognize someone by name. Even grabbing
[1:21] a pink sprinkled donut at juries will
[1:23] count. These small acts of kindness can
[1:26] have a nice ripple effect. So, let's
[1:28] make Edina shine with these acts of
[1:30] kindness and courtesies to each other.
[1:32] Let's keep making our town a little bit
[1:34] better place every single day. This is
[1:37] Jim Hublin and that's your mayor's
[1:38] minute for Wednesday, October 1st, 2025.
[1:41] I hope you have a great rest of the week
[1:43] and stay kind.
