The City Council recently approved the commission's request to transition from a standing commission to an ad hoc task force structure. This change removes the commission from city code, enabling more flexible operations and faster community response. The task force will meet more frequently, conduct surveys, and provide hands-on support to city staff. Thomas Brooks, Diversity Equity and Inclusion Manager, will continue as staff liaison.
