Edina to Dedicate New Labyrinth at Arneson Acres Park
A 30-foot medieval-style labyrinth funded by local garden clubs will be dedicated Thursday at Arneson Acres Park, completing a years-long design plan for the green space.
Mayor Jim Hovland announced during Wednesday's City Council meeting that Edina will celebrate the completion of a new labyrinth at Arneson Acres Park with a dedication ceremony on July 24, 2025.
The concrete labyrinth, measuring 30 feet in diameter, was funded through donations from the Edina Garden Council and Ketoale Garden Club. The project includes accessible trails that meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards and a tranquility garden.
"The labyrinth completes the Arneson Acres Park design with the gazebo at one end, fountain in the center, and the tranquility garden and labyrinth at the far end to the south," Hovland said during the meeting.
The dedication ceremony will feature an alpine horn concert performed by former council member Mary Brindle and her husband Ralph. Refreshments will be served at the park's gazebo, with the Terrace Room at Arneson House available as a backup location.
"The labyrinth is a great addition to the park and to our community, and I'll be proud to attend tomorrow's dedication," Hovland said. The announcement was informational only and did not require a council vote.
