In other business, the council adopted a resolution to formally vacate a right-of-way easement for Miniwawa Avenue, a street that was removed during the Minnesota Highway 100 expansion in the 1970s. The issue stemmed from a lack of formal recorded documentation of the vacation, despite the street's physical removal decades ago. The resolution ensures a clean legal description of the land running through Tupa Park, resolving a long-standing administrative gap.

The council also received an informational update on Edina's School Resource Officer (SRO) program, which places police officers in schools to build relationships with students and respond to crises. Officers Kyle Water Street and Joseph deausen are assigned to Valley View Middle School and Edina High School, respectively. Officer Water Street emphasized the preventative approach: "I look at it as a way to try to build relationships with students and if you can build those positive relationships and get them strong nice and early the chance of having to deal with a student on a negative aspect is less." School Superintendent Dr. Stacy Stanley highlighted the officers' critical role during emergencies, noting that pre-established trust strengthens safety protocols when crises occur. The SRO assignment is a rotating position typically lasting 3-4 years.
