Meeting date: Jul 1, 2025
Published Aug 5, 2025

Edina will host its annual Fourth of July celebration Friday with a full day of activities including the second annual Edina Dash race, parade and evening fireworks at Rosland Park.

Mayor Jim Hufflin announced the festivities during his July 1 Mayor's Minute, highlighting the morning race that begins at 9:30 a.m. The Edina Dash will send participants sprinting three-quarters of a mile down West 50th Street from east of City Hall to Lunds and Byerlys. The $20 entry fee race aims to raise $15,000 for Edina Give and Go and the Edina Community Foundation, with awards for the fastest man, woman and child in Edina.

The Fourth of July parade, organized by the Edina Community Foundation and presented by Explore Edina, begins at 10 a.m. behind City Hall. The hour-long parade will travel from Eden Avenue down West 50th Street, ending at Halifax Avenue near Lunds and Byerlys and US Bank. The parade will feature veterans, marching bands, floats, horses, musicians and community groups.

Evening activities move to Rosland Park, where the aquatic center will operate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Two food trucks will serve visitors starting at 7 p.m., followed by a performance by the John Philips Soua Memorial Band at 8:30 p.m. Fireworks will conclude the celebration at dusk.

Both the parade and fireworks will proceed rain or shine but may face delays or cancellation during severe storms. The city will provide weather updates through its social media channels.
