The commission also deferred discussion on "Missing Middle Housing"—a housing policy concept—from an August work session due to budget priorities, but plans to address it in September. Additionally, the city announced an outdoor Mayor's Town Hall event on August 17 at Brookview, where residents can learn about the city's rebranding project and other community topics. The meeting opened with a land acknowledgement statement honoring the Dakota nation on whose ancestral lands Golden Valley is built.
