Now, I'm going to [0:34] have since we're doing this as a [0:38] recording, I'm going to have these [0:39] people here show us what an echo is. [0:41] Barb, uh, okay, you say something. Uh, [0:44] will you please? Something. [0:47] Something. Okay. She echoes it. No, you [0:50] say something. [0:52] Anything. Anything. Okay. So, that's [0:55] what an echo is. [0:57] really important. And poor little beaver [1:01] doesn't have any friends. So, I want you [1:03] to see if he gets any friends by the end [1:06] of the story. [1:07] Little beaver and the echo. He cried and cried. [2:00] Suddenly, he heard something very [2:02] strange. On the other side of the pond, [2:06] someone else was crying, too. [2:11] Little Beaver stopped crying and [2:13] listened. The other crying stopped. [2:16] Little Beaver was alone again. [2:22] said the voice from across the pond. [2:29] Said the voice from across the pond. [2:31] Little beaver stopped crying. Hello. [2:35] Hello, said the voice from across the [2:38] pond. Why are you crying? Why are you [2:42] crying? asked the voice from across the [2:45] pond. Little Beaver thought for a [2:47] moment. [2:48] I'm lonely. I need a friend. I'm lonely. [2:53] I need a friend, said the voice from [2:55] across the pond. Little Beaver couldn't [2:58] believe it. On the other side of the [3:00] pond lived somebody else who was sad and [3:03] needed a friend, too. He got right into [3:07] his boat and set off to find him. It was [3:10] a big pond. He paddled and paddled. [3:16] Then he saw a young duck swimming in [3:19] circles all by himself. I am looking for [3:23] someone who needs a friend. Was it you [3:25] who was crying? Quack. [3:28] I do not I do need a friend, but it [3:31] wasn't me who was crying. Well, I'll be [3:33] your friend. Come with me. So, the duck [3:36] jumped into the boat. They paddled and [3:41] paddled. [3:43] Then they saw a young otter sliding up [3:46] and down the bank all by himself. [3:56] We're looking for someone who needs a [3:57] friend. Was it you who was crying? I do [4:00] need a friend, but it wasn't me who was [4:03] crying. We'll be your friends. Come with [4:06] us. So the otter jumped into the boat. [4:10] They paddled and paddled and paddled. [4:16] Then they saw an old turtle sunning [4:19] himself all alone on a rock. Turtle, [4:22] we're looking for someone who needs a [4:24] friend. Was it you who was crying? [4:28] I do need a friend. But it wasn't me who [4:35] was crying. [4:38] We'll be your friends. come with us. So [4:42] the turtle crawled into the boat and [4:45] they paddled and paddled and paddled and [4:50] paddled until they came to the end of [4:54] the pond. Here lived a wise old beaver [4:58] in a mud house all alone. We have [5:01] paddled all around the pond to find who [5:04] was crying. It wasn't me. It wasn't me. [5:08] It wasn't [5:11] me. Well, then who was it? It was the [5:15] echo. [5:16] Where does he live? On the other side of [5:20] the pond. No matter where you are, the [5:24] echo is always across the pond from you. [5:28] But why? Why is he crying? When you are [5:31] sad, the echo is sad. When you are app, [5:36] the echo is happy, too. Just Just how do [5:40] I find him and be his friend? He doesn't [5:42] have any friends. And neither do I. [5:47] Except for me. Except for me. Except for [5:52] me. [5:53] Little Beaver looked surprised. Oh, I [5:56] have lots of friends now. He was so [5:58] happy that he I said it again very [6:01] loudly. I have lots of friends now. From [6:04] across the pond, a voice answered him. I [6:08] have lots of friends now. [6:11] The end.
