“I really feel like we um do not have enough legal representation for our district. And the ones that I would like to add... Marke Skele Margaret Skelton at Ratwick, Rosac and Maloney, Peter Martin and Greg Madson at Kennedy and Graven and Pertton Law. Those are the four um legal firms I'd like to add.”
“This isn't about revisiting the vote. We don't need to sort of relitigate what happened at the prior meeting. This is about fulfilling the board's responsibility to ensure the district has the appropriate legal representation.”
“if I have topic A and I want topic A to pass and the board says no, which is what happened in this case, it would be inappropriate for me to continually put it on the agenda until I get what I want. That would be inappropriate.”
“As of this morning, 11 people have filled out an application. Those applications come from Minnesota, North Dakota, Idaho, and Iowa. A number of those individuals, even from out of state, have uh experience in this particular area or some type of ties.”
“The listening session part um is we ask board members not to be part of that. It is considered a public meeting but the reason we ask board members not to be involved in that is because we want people whether it's students admin families community we want them to just speak to speak from their heart and to really identify the things that are on their heart and mind.”
“When I did this the last time we hired Superintendent Massie, we had the presentations and it's not really so much a Q&A, but it's them coming in and presenting on our district... that's where we really truly got to know our candidate.”
“The program goal is to provide equitable, intentional and targeted educational opportunities to every American Indian student while fostering cultural identity and pride. The purpose is focusing on academic achievement.”
“we were going to have an um offsite activity down at Walker Art, but um in January there were some things that made it unsafe for us to go down there, so we were not able to do that.”
“I think Theo's been incredible. I think we could all agree here that uh gosh, he's touched a lot of lives in this district and and he's been really instrumental in the success of a lot of our students.”
