Oakdale Fire and Police Departments  will host a senior safety seminar this Thursday,   [0:24] July 17, from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at City Hall to  provide retirees with safety information and   [0:30] recommendations. In today's ever changing world,  it's important for our residents ages 55 and up to   [0:35] remain informed about current trends and safety  issues. A Red Cross blood drive will be held at   [0:40] the Discovery Center this Friday, July 18, from 9  AM to 3 PM. You can sign up on redcrossblood.org.   [0:47] Finally, this week, our Oakdale  Police Department reveals a new   [0:50] redesigned uniform patch. Following the  state of Minnesota flag and seal changes,   [0:54] a committee was formed to redesign our Police  patch with a simple yet classic design to   [0:58] represent our community. The new patch design  includes Oakdale's historic Oak tree affixed in   [1:03] front of a subdued United States flag along with  stars on each side to pay tribute to the first   [1:07] Oakdale PD patch created in 1968.
