[0:04] [Music] Welcome back to the Monday Morning
Minute for January 20th! Let's get 60 seconds
[0:08] on the clock and get started. City offices and
facilities are closed today, Monday, in observance
[0:12] of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Staff will be
back tomorrow to resume regular hours. Stop by the
[0:17] Oakdale Indoor Market at the Discovery Center this
Saturday, January 25th, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM to
[0:21] shop more than 20 local vendors offering a unique
variety of items. Do you still have your holiday
[0:26] tree up? Oakdale Public Works is offering holiday
tree recycling to residents through the end of the
[0:30] month. The cost is $3 per tree. No decorations
or bags are allowed. You can drop it off at
[0:34] Public Works Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM
to 3:30 PM. Please stop inside before disposing
[0:39] of trees. Finally, some fire extinguisher safety
tips from the Oakdale Fire Department. First,
[0:44] assess the fire and call 911 if it's too large
or unmanageable. When using a fire extinguisher,
[0:49] use the P.A.S.S. technique: Pull, Aim,
Squeeze and Sweep. Aim the nozzle or hose
[0:54] at the base of the fire from the recommended
safe distance. Move forward or around the fire
[0:58] area as the fire diminishes. A reminder to
only use fire extinguishers on small fires
[1:03] and get yourself to safety first. That's it,
I'm out of time. Have a great week, Oakdale!
