Oakdale Library Expands Monday, Thursday Hours
The Oakdale Library implemented new operating hours this week, extending Monday and Thursday service in response to community requests for additional morning access.
Starting July 7, the library will operate Mondays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to Mayor Zabel's weekly update. Hours on all other days remain unchanged. The schedule adjustment was made to accommodate community requests for expanded morning availability.
The week also features several community events, including the Oakdale Farmers Market Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the City Hall parking lot. A folk music concert by the Mac and Cheese Band will follow at 7 p.m. at the Walton Park Band Shell.
The Oakdale Police and Fire Departments will host their third annual Ladders and Squads event Thursday, July 10, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Fire Station One, located at 5000 Hadley Avenue N. The free family event allows children to explore public safety vehicles including fire trucks, ambulances and squad cars.
A Pop-Up Splash Pad event is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Eastside Park, featuring fire hose spray, water balloon activities and games provided by the Oakdale Fire Department.
