[0:00] Hi, Woodbury, I'm Ashley, [0:02] and here's the scoop. [0:05] Woodbury voters elected Kim Wilson and Donna Stafford [0:08] to fill two positions on the Woodbury City Council. [0:12] Both will begin four year terms in January. [0:14] Wilson and Stafford emerged as winners [0:16] from a field of eight candidates seeking council positions. [0:20] Wilson was reelected to a second term on the council. [0:23] She received 14,592 votes. [0:27] Stafford is retired after enjoying a successful career [0:30] in former Minnesota [0:31] Governor Rudy Perpich’s Office and later in health care. [0:35] She received 9601 votes. [0:38] Voters also approved a 0.5% local sales tax [0:42] to help fund the planned Public Safety campus project. [0:46] Celebrate the New Year on December 31st [0:48] at Health Fairview Sports Center. [0:51] A New Year's Eve matinee for children ages 3 to 8. [0:54] Takes place from 230 to 4:30 p.m. [0:57] Later The family celebration recommended [0:59] for children under 12 kicks off at 6 p.m. [1:03] Both events feature large inflatables, obstacle courses, [1:06] music and more. [1:08] Woodbury City Budget for 2025 proposes [1:11] a 5.7%, or $73 increase [1:15] in city taxes on the median value home next year. [1:18] The tax impacts of the proposed budget, as well as the programs [1:22] and services supported by it, Will be reviewed [1:25] during the regular City Council meeting December 11th at 730. [1:30] All interested residents are invited to attend. [1:33] The city strives to maintain a sound financial [1:35] standing through its fiscal management and reporting. [1:39] As a result, Woodbury holds the Triple-A bond rating [1:41] from Standard and Poor's, the highest available rating. [1:45] This allows the city to borrow money at the lowest rates, [1:47] saving taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars. [1:51] Woodbury is one of only 30 Minnesota cities [1:53] that have earned the top rating from Standard and Poor's. [1:56] Woodbury winter parking restrictions are now in effect. [2:00] City ordinance prohibits on street parking between 2 a.m. [2:03] and 6 a.m. [2:04] through April 1st, or any time two or more inches of snow [2:08] has accumulated. [2:10] In addition, city ordinance requires [2:12] vehicles parked in driveways to not extend beyond the driveway [2:16] and into the street, or obstruct a trail or sidewalk.
